Top 10 Teams In Northern Kentucky

Featured Replies

Oh yeah thats right. Well I should have added them. They'll be pretty solid but I dont see them having any hitting besides Egan and Roenker.

Along with Nick Ritter who hit clean up for Meyerhoff's team this summer. But I agree hitting is a question mark. Kyle Fuller and Rob Broering are solid hitters too though.

I've heard that Roenker's shoulder injury (surgery?) may limit his pitching.

Will it also limit his playing time in the field or his hitting?

Talked to Andy's father a couple weeks ago. Don said Andy's shoulder is fine and didn't anticipate any problems. He should play 1B when not pitching.

Northern Kentucky sure loves their baseball. I think there are more supporters and posts for their area than anyone else on this forum. :dancingpa

Well I know I try my best to post every game I attend during the spring and summer months and I know Coop, DD, hja1224, The Great Game, nkuclubbaseball19 and a couple of more do too.

At a HS baseball game you can watch the game, keep stats and still enjoy a conversation with the fans from your team, as well as the other teams fans. You can get a bite to eat between innings without missing any of the game, it's a cheap ticket and a fun way to spend a nice spring or summer day outside. No one get too upset at the games and you can talk to most of the men in Blue and even ask them questions about the game (if you are nice about it) and they will talk to you. At least in the Ninth JJ and his crew of Blue, seems to enjoy doing the games and watching the kid do well as most of the fans do.

Yep up in NKy, (Boone, Campbell and Kenton Counties) we indeed do love our Baseball! :thumb:

Is the 36th district that weak this year or are we overlooking them?

HHS hasn't been tough in a while but their new MGR. will change that soon enough but it does takes time. Be patient HHS fans.....

NCC is usually very good but if I remember correctly lost a lot.

Belleuve would have easily been a top 10 team but lost Jones

It's been a while since Dayton and or Newport has really been in the hunt for the Ninth Region Championship.

Are your highlighted teams the teams you think will make it to region this year?

What about Bellevue? They only lost one player really Hunter Jones...

I believe they also lost one of their top pitchers to graduation. I know they still have Piper, who just recently committed to Shawnee State.

Obviously losing a player like Jones is tough, both from a production standpoint and also a leadership standpoint. But I did get to see them a couple of times last year and there was no question they were not a one horse show. They had a couple nice pitchers and some talent surrounding Jones. Just not certain how much of that talent they lost to graduation. If not much, then I would think they will be player in the 36th. If they lost a lot of senior leadership in addition to Jones, then it might possibly be tough sledding.

Look for Alex Hegge to lead this team. Without Jones there you will here alot more about this kid. He plays for the Bluegrass Chiefs and has been playing varsity since he was a freshman I think. He can get the job done at the plate.

I put gaps in between 4-5 and 8-9 intentionally.

Sleeper teams: Bishop Brossart, Calvary Christian

Wish I knew more about Lloyd. If they don't have something to offer, then the 34th is a very weak district (except Dixie obviously).

I think there are some good young players at Lloyd. If they all play baseball and stick with it they might be able to get that program back on track.

Yes!

I've seen McGwire and he is a nice pitcher. I know Pittman didn't get to throw last season coming back from an arm injury, but should be good to go this year. Only saw them play once last year, but didn't see too much hitting, though one game is hardly a fair sampling to make an overall assessment.
