CovCath almost gave it away at the foul line. Closer than it should have been for that reason. Agree, Max Pauly very much the leader this evening.

Best game that I have seem Max Pauly play since before he got sick last year. He showed tonight what a lot of folks were looking from him this season. Outstanding game Max...

 

Understand no complaints, and no complaining about the men in stripes, but how does Dixie who is the most foul prone team in the Ninth Region, have only one foul called on them in the entire first half and it almost was the half way through the third quarter before the second foul on Dixie was called on them in the game. No complaints but just strange.

 

Hatton indeed impressed me.... but and I will leave it at that.

 

I too wonder why Pike did not start?

The CovCath JV had huge win tonight over Dixie and got a big game from Andrew Baker.The young man must have had a minimum of 10 block shots tonight and when he wasn't blocking Dixie shots, the Dixie players were altering their shots due to Andrew blocking so many of them. Great game Andrew!

Actually, I think the count was 9 blocks and he didn't play the last 8 minutes.

A huge 3 by one of Dixie's big men, Wes Smith, with 54 seconds left in the game to cut Cov. Cath.'s lead to 1. A very clutch shot. Hatton is fun to watch. He played great and was very composed. Max Pauley played very well for Cov. Cath. The game was very clean. Little if any yacking between the players. A+++ jobs by both teams.

Dixie played passive (relatively speaking) defensively in the first half. It was not the same style of defense that they played against Holmes.

How did I not know this game was being played tonight. Asleep at the switch. Congrats CCH.

I think Hatton is a solid player. Not ready to crown him yet as the leading scorer 3 of his last 4 years. He was 2-10 from inside the arc and 1-1 from three. He can hit free throws as he went 7-9 and no steals and 2 assists. Now Max Pauly's stats: 5-8 from inside the arc, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals and 1 turnover.

I disagree. Hatton is good but put a bigger, more athletic guard on him and he struggles.

 

Jake Thelen will lead the area in ppg next year. He'll average over 20 ppg.

I only had to see Thelen play twice in the 8th grade at St Pius to know he would develop into a fine player for the Colonels. Congrats to the Blue Colonels for the big win. What is up though with CovCath's FT shooting? They have to be hovering at around 50% as a team on the year.

Was not able to attend but understand Thelen was very tough around the rim all night.
