February 4, 201016 yr I rented and watched it a few months ago when it came out I think. It was really good, and after watching an Ali documentary the other night I feel like Tyson would have put it to him.

February 4, 201016 yr :laugh::laugh::laugh: I think Tyson in his prime would have beaten Ali. Ali was way more of a showman and likable guy, but Tyson was all business.
February 4, 201016 yr Mike Tyson's life has been calamitous to put it mildly. Feel somewhat sorry for the guy. Sort of reminds me of an uneducated lottery winner who lost it all.
February 4, 201016 yr Author Mike Tyson's life has been calamitous to put it mildly. Feel somewhat sorry for the guy. Sort of reminds me of an uneducated lottery winner who lost it all. What I took from the documentary is that he became a fighter because he was picked on as a youngster. If not for that, he'd have just been a common criminal.

February 4, 201016 yr I think Tyson in his prime would have beaten Ali. Ali was way more of a showman and likable guy, but Tyson was all business. Not even close. As much as his thunderous punches, Tyson's biggest asset was the fact that he scared the hell out of most everybody before they even stepped into the ring. Not saying Mike wasn't great, but he was extremely flattered by how weak the heavyweight division was during his time. Ali, on the other hand, was scared of no one, and could take a punch better than anyone this side of Rocky Balboa. On top of that, he was likely the best pure technical boxer the heavyweight division has seen or will see, and one of its most intelligent. If you think the spell Holyfield cast over Tyson was something, imagine what a bigger, faster, smarter and more skilled man would have done to him. It might even resemble what Ali did to Foreman, who was every bit as fearsome as Tyson, and just as powerful. I'll take the Greatest Of All Time in six, and no later than eight.

Tyson in his prime would have destroyed Ali........the Ali in the 30 for 30 doc when he was 83 years old and fought Holmes. I'm not so sure if he could have handled a prime Ali however.

Holyfield owned Tyson and a 98 year old Foreman went the distance with Holyfield. There is alwasy the possibility that Tyson would catch Ali and knock him out but doubtful.

I have to totally agree. :thumb:

Ali fought two guys just as strong as Tyson in Foreman and Frasier. He was able to withstand a great deal of punishment. Also, you saw what happened to Tyson when he faced an actual boxer with world class skills, he got frustrated and tired.
