I also see this as a non-issue...one that blemishes the credibility of those that might have valid concerns over Obama's policies and actions. It's the fan in the stand at the basketball game crying "foul!" when the defender's right index finger just scrapes the point guard's jersey.

He's not lecturing anyone, he's talking about why the government should be limiting its spending. Now, we can have a substantive discussion about how well he's accomplishing that or what needs to be done, but the idea that making a gambling analogy to illustrate fiscal responsibility somehow causes people to not go to Las Vegas is absurd.

Then you underestimate the harm that can be done by comments by a sitting president. Especially during a tough economy.

As pointed out, Vegas is much more than a place to gamble. And again, he's not our daddy, it's not his place to begin with.

This is mostly a non issue I'd agree.

 

He didn't exactly say to "eat vegetables" it's more like "don't eat beef when their are vegetables available". Is that an issue for the Cattleman's Association. I'd say so especially if just a year ago he would have said "don't eat beef b/c chicken is cheaper" Big difference IMO, but I agree that it isn't a big deal and it's giving Nevada Dems who are in trouble a way to distance themsleves from him more than anything.

You miss the point. In this country, the automobile is king. We love our cars, the vast majority of us own them and it's much more convenient for us. The high speed rail thing is a colossal waste of money. The one they want to build in this area is a prime example. Six and a half hours to go from Cincy to Cleveland. :lol: I can drive 35 and reach Cleveland quicker than that. High speed indeed....
