Brad Leeke is practicing and looks to be at full strength, adding Leeke will make losing Larimore sting much less, Brad is a heck of an athlete and an even better young man! Its great to see him back on the field!

Does either Colosimo pitch? Joe used to be pretty good when he was young,

but I've never seen him pitch in high school.

I hear Joe is not playing due to getting ready for football.

There is no shortage of bodies on the roster. There are over 20 on the varsity roster and about 20 on the freshman roster. They actually cut some kids this year.

As to Joe Colosimo, Clyde, you heard right. Now that he is headed to Duke for football he left the baseball team to work with a trainer for football. So now there are no seniors on Beechwood's team this year.

Okay...I was hearing that they didn't have many (any) seniors, which was leading me to believe they might have had some low roster numbers. Glad to hear they're doing fine.

Early season scrimmage with HHS should be starting right about now.

Myerhoff knew he was in deep doo doo w/ pitching this season so he spent a lot of (read as: too much) effort pitching his beechwood kids on the Lions last summer.

I guess we all have our own opinions on this. My take would be he gave the kids who tried and worked harder than others the chances. If that happened to be BW kids then that is who got the chance. Some kids were working hard while others (and some parents) were complaining about where they were playing and how much. It is easy to blame a coach, but maybe some need to take a closer look. Ok first off Bob Myerhoff is not going to overpitch anybody.

Secondly Bertke has some nasty stuff but Bob will develop several other pitchers along the way.

Third I really think that anybody that questions his coaching ability really should look at what he gets year in and year out. In my opinion he is the premier coach in Northern Ky. Now I have never had a kid play for him but from an outsider looking in and one that watches him in the winter he is one of the finest teachers of the game there is.

I was at alot of games the lions played last year, and Myerhoff never work with the Beechwood kids any more than the kids from other Schools. :idunno:

i know not many upperclassmen are playing this year, so who is going to get varsity time out of the sophmore class at beechwood?

Cameron Vocke needs to play, he is a very talented baseball player, SS and lead off hitter.
