Who is he? What grade is he in? Did he play JV last year?

Sophmore, plays tailback and defensive back on the football team and plays basketball, has not played baseball at Beechwood. Excellent baseball player.

At what level was he excellent? Are you saying he is skilled enough to play varsity SS? That would be a huge help to the Tigers...................

he played 2 years of JV at Lloyd before he transferred to Beechwood.

I am real interested in seeing Cottingham behind the plate. He has spent a ton of time in the cages this winter that I hopes pays off at the plate for him. Defensively he is a pleasure to watch and his times are phenominal getting his throws to second.

I was told by someone who I consider very knowledgeable in baseball that he believes Vocke's best sport is baseball. Knowing how good he is in football, that is saying a lot. This person felt Vocke is a definite next level talent in baseball. But Vocke isn't playing baseball so I guess we'll never know.

I am very disappointed Vocke is not playing baseball he is a very talented young man and can play all sports at this level. He has decided to concentrate on football for next year. Not that a bunch have not tried to get him to play they have. He is a very good young man and gifted. JD

Whoever that person was ... has never seen Cameron play football.

The one thing that I am happy to read ... is that no one is accusing the football program of "forcing" Cameron to spend his time on football.

The interesting thing is ... if Beechwood would have had a boys track team this year ... Cameron was on board (which may say something about Cameron's like/dislike for baseball).

If you ever hear a complaint about Beechwood athletes being "forced" to play just football, don't believe it. Coach Rash is 100% supportive and encouraging of Beechwood's students participating in all the sports and academic activities they want. He embraces the small school Beechwood is and recognizes that our talent must be shared across all programs for the school and the students to be successful. Any student who chooses to focus on football over another activity does it completely by their choice.

As to Beechwood boy's track, my understanding is they are going to try to get a boy's track team together next year. Now that girl's soccer is in place, I believe they are allowed to add boy's track and stay in compliance with Title IX.

Couldn't have said it better myself on both points!

Boys track is coming at Beechwood ..... and the rest of the area better get ready ... no more "small private school" domination in NKY when it happens .... (sorry for the threadjack .. just excited).
