I remember when it was at Memorial, the first year the tournament went statewide in 1990. Best time ever, and BIG crowds too.

And, a kid from my school, Jeff "Moose" Moore, was MVP even though we were runner-up to UHA in the tournament. I don't know if that's ever happened since.

Actually, now that I think about it, I remember it was a two-year deal with the first round in Rupp, because the last three rounds were at Eastern in 1992.

If/when the All A leaves Richmond, Memorial Coliseum could be considered again. The main problem there before was a conflict with UK practices, but that is no longer an issue with their new practice facility.

Frankfort has never hosted the All A Classic ... it was played in Memorial Coliseum in Lexington in 1990-92, but Rick Pitino didn't like the tournament cutting into his practice and instructional time. It's been in Richmond ever since.

I saw the article in the newspaper, and saw some of the other venues that were in consideration to host the All-A in the upcoming years. For the life of me, I have a hard time understanding basic logistics.

 

With the lack of events that the Bank of Kentucky (NKU) is drawling in, why would they not bid for the opportunity to host a good size event for 4 straight days. This has to be better than "Walking with Dinosaurs," "Sesame Street Live" and other productions.

 

With the success that Northern Kentucky Teams have had in the history of the tournament I think the tournament would draw very well at NKU and make some significant money.

 

With the addition to several hotels that have been recently added to the Wilder exit; I think Northern Kentucky would make a great host.

BOK is not centrally located. I think it would be too far to travel for some schools and thus the attendance would decrease.
