But you are talking all-time numbers. Outside of Warren Central, Russellville had one year where they went to the semifinals. Other than that, no one else has done much other than WC in the past decade.

The regions you should probably most like to see would be:

 

-14th Region (Winning only 23.7% of their games in the last 29 tournaments, with no team since 1986 making the semis)

-16th Region (Winning only 31% of their games, and last year was their first team in 13 years to win multiple games in the Sweet 16)

-1st Region (40.8% of their games)

-12th Region (43.5% of their games)

-15th Region (44% of their games

-5th Region (46% of their games)

This is a great draw for Shelby Valley. SV will be my pick to win the Sweet 16. What a season if they could win both the Class A and Sweet 16. The other bracket is so top heavy, look for those teams to run out of gas.

I did say adjust your perception on a couple of regions, those regions being Region 4 & Region 3. Both of them have had more success recently and all-time than Region 2.

 

Both Bowling Green's and Greenwood's opponents lost to the eventual state champ in the next round. Going after that is as fair as giving Christian County grief over losing to Holmes last year, which the whole point of your post is to talk about how the second region gets hosed in the draw. Region 4 got every bit as hosed last year. I'd bet if you made a list of your least desirable draws, the 4th Region would have drawn them two out of the four years of your timeframe (10th in 2006, 11th in 2009). Out of the four years you just named, 2008 and Greenwood is the only team I believe most in the state would have wanted to play. I think you're way off base here Scribe. You're telling me you'd choose the 4th Region in your top 6 most desirable draws this year?

Ninth highest leader in the 16 regions wouldn't make them in your top 6 most desirable would it? I believe the LIT is also the lowest of any of the major rankings for the 4th Region. In the BGP poll they have two teams in the top 15 and Warren Central rates as the sixth highest region leader.

 

The 4th Region would be considered by most to be a neutral draw at best. And I think deep down you believe the same and just won't admit it.

I consider our best every bit as good as the 6th & 8th, maybe even the 15th but for the most part, I agree with that.

Also, FWIW, I think Christian County is better than any team in the 4th Region. But then again, they're better than any team in most regions.

Yes, the Second Region got a very tough draw. We got a better first round than last year (or 2006), but if our rep gets past that, the 7th & 8th regions loom, and it would be then whoever survives your side of death. Believe me, I don't want the draw you guys got, didn't want it last year, or the year before either.

 

I don't think Holmes should be very happy either.

Actually, I think the Fourth Region rep is the only team happy in that top bracket :lol:

- I would consider the 2nd Region in the upper-echelon of the state, as the region has plenty of parity (evidenced by a new school going each year from 1997-2004, and no school going twice in this span). Save the 7th, 11th, 9th, and 6th, I don't know of a region that can make a solid claim of being far and away better than the second region team. Not saying that plenty aren't every bit as good, or even better, just that it's hard to quantify a claim stating that any of the other regions are definitively better.

 

- I couldn't disagree more with anyone who says that the 13th got a favorable (or even decent draw this year). Nothing seems favorable about potential match-ups with the #2 team in BGP's top 20, followed by a match-up with the #4 or #7 teams in the state, followed by a potential match-up with the #1 team in the state, followed by a potential match-up with the #6 team in the state to win it all.

 

Even if each of these respective teams don't make it, they come from strong regions where teams usually don't "luck-up" and get to Rupp. If we're talking about a road to the Championship, I don't know a region that has to beat more highly rated teams consecutively than the 13th Region Representative. Replace the 13th's draw with the 15th, 10th, or 6th's, and I think you have what most would consider to be a "good draw". Nothing about that top bracket looks good for anyone involved.

 

For someone to say that the 13th got a good draw is beyond me. If anything, I don't think you can say that a team got a worse draw besides the 9th or 2nd. If the 13th Region got a good draw, I'd hate to see one's definition of a brutal draw.

The fact that the 6th and 7th regions are on opposite sides is pretty exciting, though it would only figure that the 6th isn't all that strong this year.
