January 31, 201016 yr I spoke with one of the Kenton County prosecutors last night. He said that (this is all public record, mind you) Rey was leaving the Mad Hatter in Covington, and was driving the vehicle of a girl who had stayed behind at the bar - he had her permission to drive it. There was an 18 year old woman in the car with him, who was released at the scene. Maualuga readily admitted to the arresting officer that he was intoxicated, and while being taken to the jail, was complaining that the Bengals are requiring him to stay in town for treatment/rehab instead of allowing him to receive treatment and rehab at home with his family in California. As a result, he is stuck with "nothing to do but drink", and that he's "virtually drunk all the time". I really hope that Rey finds it in himself to adjust his attitude. I understand that it's difficult to be away from your family - particularly when under normal circumstances, you could otherwise be at home with them. Still, that is no excuse to work your entire life around alcohol. As a 23 year old, he needs to realize that there are other ways to entertain yourself. Yes, January in greater Cincinnati may be no comparison to sunny southern California, but there are ways to spend your time being productive in Cincy. Let's hope this is the wake-up call that he needed. He's one heck of a ball player, and is a pleasure to watch play football.

February 1, 201016 yr If that's the case then the fella REALLY can't handle his alcohol. While I understand that's alot for most, he's about a 250 or so lb man and by many account seems to drink about as often as he speaks soooooo yea. Me personally Id say he had a few more than 6 UNLESS that was within a 2 or 3 hour time frame, or just doesn't count what he had before he actualy went out. I could see that being the case. Do you honestly believe that is all he had? I'm sure he didn't tell the cops exactly how much he was drinking.

Your a professional athlete pay the small fair and take a cab. :irked: This is what I could never understand... All that money and can't pay for a cab... :idunno:
February 7, 201016 yr Just saw where he intends on checking in to a Betty Ford clinic. Just saw the same thing. It's about time for Mike Brown to let Rey go. How is he supposed to fit in while making good decisions?:clap: BTW, that's a joke as a fan and a man I hope the kid gets his life straight! This is a good start.
