Looks good, however it's impossible to pick the 36th not knowing how the draw will shake out. Newport and NewCath could very easily meet in the first round, automatically knocking one out.

 

Isn't it possible that only one of NCC, Newport and Highlands could make the regional? If those three draw into the same side of the district bracket, then Bellevue and Dayton draw to the other side meaning the Bellevue/Dayton winnner makes the regional.

 

If NCC, Newport and Highlands draw opposite each other, the district loser is going to be a very tough first round regional matchup for a district winner.

That's what happened in 08....Highlands, Newport, and Newcath were all three on the same side and Bellevue beat Dayton to earn a birth in the region tourney.

 

It'd be a shame if atleast two of the three top teams in the 36th didn't make it. That's why all districts need to be seeded.

To be very honest, that is why I hope Newport doesn't make it to the Region (sorry Newport fans). They had the chance to make it a seeded tourney and didn't as NCC and HHS always vote to seed. If for no other reason than Newport voted not to seed, I hope they don't make it out of the District!

 

The KHSAA should step in and make every district seed and if the KHSAA doesn't do it, then make it a blind draw everywhere but then only one team from each District moves on to the Region! This having teams move on to the Region because they got a lucky draw is unfair to the teams who have to play a quality team in the first round of the Region while another team get a walk over!

Correct you are but you wouldn't/couldn't have a HHS, NCC and Newport draw in the same bracket with a seeded draw, but you can have it via a blind draw.

 

I have said it before, you never will see the banner in the gym stating "36th Distinct Runner-up because we got a lucky draw" hanging on the wall!

I am with ya on that. You can bet that the Birds will be focused when the Districts come around. When you have that many Sr's knowing that it could be their last game EVER it usually is a big motivator.

 

I really would like to see NCC and Highlands move on only because Newport has claimed the All A championship and hopefully they will win downstate this week.

I thought that both district games now counted in district seedings, as of last year.
