January 22, 201016 yr Former Kentucky Wildcat 7-footers Jared Carter and Shagari Alleyne met for the first time as opponents on Tuesday night in the Premier Basketball League. Alleyne and his Halifax Rainmen defeated Carter's Vermont Frost Heaves by a score of 128-83. Both former Cats played significant minutes and contributed to their respective teams. Alleyne was 4-7 from the field in 19 minutes of action. He totalled 8 points, 14 rebounds and 6 blocks for the game. Carter scored 6 points and pulled down 3 rebounds in 15 minutes. He is from Georgetown and played high school basketball for Scott County High School. (article by me)

Any time that an athlete can make a career out of doing what they love, it's a good thing, IMO. granted, they may not make millions like their NBA counterparts, but at least they are still playing.

Shagari is one of my favorites and anyone who thinks Jared Carter sucks has never played against someone who is 7'2''.

I would be ashamed to be 7"0 and not in the NBA if I were calling myself a basketball player.
