Coach L was very happy with the Colonels "D' and with # 22 Austin Hudepohl shooting tonight.

#40 Brett Riedinger in the span of :41 seconds shoots a trey, misses but gets fouled and makes all three FT, then comes back to hit a trey to end the half to take CovCath from a 24/22 lead, to a half time lead of 30/22. It was great to see the young man play so well.

Thelen in the 1st quarter was a man amongst boys, as he scored CovCath first 9 points and 12 of the 15 they scored in the first quarter.

In the second quarter CovCath played some outstanding "D" as they only allowed MC one field goal and five free throws for a total of 7 points in the quarter.

Indeed the MC gym is outstanding and the hospitality shown to CovCath was very much appreciated.

Thank you also to the MC official Scorer! I enjoyed very much working with you! :thumb:

And that old guy even helped clean up inside the bus when the Colonels got back to CovCath! What he will do to get free admission and ride to a basketball game, just amazes me!:ohbrother:

I would like to thank Coach L for allowing me to keep the book and indeed I have even more respect than ever, for the living legend at CovCath, Mr. Jack Kaelin, who has done the book at CovCath for what seems like forever!

OK, Wellbrock had a monster jam near the end of the game and even though I was perched right under the basket to capture the Kodak moment I blew it. (as you can see below) So he will just have to do it again. The team loved it though. Nice slam Trevor, sorry!

paNDA, he indeed ask whether you got it, after the game. He was very excited and so was the whole team.

With the win against a tough NCC team on Friday night and a win on the road against a 13/5 MC team, things are looking up for this CovCath squad.

Anyone care to start a JV thread I can throw those pics up too.

Congrats to CC on the W. Their inside game of Thelen and Wellbrock continues to be too much for the opposition.

Not much of a stats guy but it just seems that turnovers are way down and confidence is sky high. That is a good combination.

Not a bad showing for Montgomery County. They have played a lot better than many thought they would at the beginning of the season.

It all starts with point guard play and Max Pauly has been slowly but steadily been climbing up the list as one of the best in the region. He's making his teammates better.

A guard who consistently lights it up when the defense sags in on Welbrock and Thelen would be major addition to the Colonels offense.
