Is the Big 10 Back?

Featured Replies

Seriously...

Bama has opened up with top 10 teams that last 2 seasons...

2008 with Clemson

2009 with Virginia Tech

Next year we play Penn State.

That's what I was thinking. Many SEC teams take the easy way out in non-Conference, Bama does not IMO.

Wasn't LSU the 3rd best team in the SEC? That's hardly a bottom feeder IMO. Where were they ranked? Penn State the 3rd best team in the Big 10 beat the 3rd best team in the SEC.

I said bottom feeders of the bowl eligible teams. I guess I should have used better words, but in my opinion, LSU sucks and has no coach whatsoever. Even still, Penn St. could play LSU 10 times, they'd probably end up losing 8 of them. I have no faith in the Big 10 whatsoever, unless it's nap time.

Also the teams not mentioned by you with great running games had dynamite defenses, except for maybe the Colts. AND the Steelers, Colts, and Pats were able to stop the run. It's not rocket science. Stats are stats, who cares? The Patriots team that sets all kinds of records really worked out well didn't it?

So you're saying instead of running the ball, teams need to be able to stop the run. Makes sense.

I think that teams that can stop the run are consistently succesful, so yes.

I think Penn State is a 3-4 loss team next year with Bama providing one of those.

They'll be top 15 and will be another strong out of conference opponent for the Tide.

They probably lose 3-4 regular season games at the most and thats because their hardest games are on the road.

They end the year @ #9.

They travel to...

#1 Bama

#5 OSU

#7 Iowa

KY, your avatar looks like one of my sons shirt we just ordered.

Sorry to high jack, back to the Big 10 being back.

With the way Bama schedules non league games I could see them scheduling a Dension type team and of course it would have to be played at Bama.

Ohio State 2009: Navy, USC, Toledo, New Mexico St.

Ohio State 2010: Marshall, Miami, Ohio, Eastern Michigan

How is that any better than what Bama has been doing out of conference? Looks about the same to me.
