January 9, 201016 yr Okay, like I said talent is different. Style of play is similar, teams try to reach their goals in similar fashion. Running the ball and defense. But there aren't any good RBs or defenses in the Big 10 I guess......:idunno: Boring doesn't always mean bad football. Often it is just the opposite. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it isn't good. I can't stand UF or Tebow, but it would be insane to say that they're not good IMO. :thumb::thumb: Very good post CCC.
January 9, 201016 yr I don't know if they are back or not, but we will get to see what should be a great matchup as Penn State travels to Tuscaloosa during September. That should be (I hope) a good one. My early pick is Bama at home and I feel fairly confident about that one . :thumb:
January 9, 201016 yr :thumb::thumb: Very good post CCC. People complain when offensive teams like Texas Tech and Oregon's defenses let them down, but when teams try to do it the old fashioned way it's not good enough either. The Big 10's problems were not because of style of play IMO. They had to get more athletes in there and they have done it IMO. OSU, Penn State, etc. have all gotten much faster while maintaining the core elements which have been vital to winning championships for decades. May not be the prettiest way to win a football game, but it worked for Bama last night.....A "godly" SEC team.....:thumb:

January 9, 201016 yr Big 10 = a good night's sleep. Any time I have trouble sleeping, I just slap it to the Big 10 network and that's all she wrote. Especially if basketball is on!!! That's one good thing I can say about Tubby. You just watched big 10 style football win a NC. Like it or not Nick Saban is a big 10 roots coach. Defense first and Run alot mixed in with a few pass plays.

If that's what they want, then so be it. It's still boring though.

January 9, 201016 yr :ohbrother: I thought this was a football thread and forum. :idunno::lol: Of course. I've hit a touchy spot and I'm sorry.
January 9, 201016 yr Penn St doesnt beat LSU if the Field was in shape at all. Wisconsin beat Miami on the same Field a week before.

Penn State the 3rd best team in the Big 10 beat the 3rd best team in the SEC.

The difference in the game was Wisconsin's DL vs. Miami's OL. I don't care if they played on turf or on a frozen tundra Wisconsin was the better team that night. The U didn't come close to blocking them and I'm surprised JH didn't get killed. As for PSU-LSU both teams had to play on that field. It's not like when Penn State had the ball they got to play on a clean field.

There is always a reason a SEC team falls in an out of conference game when they are on those rare occasions playing a big game on the road. :idunno:

The NFC East would have trouble getting past the SEC Elite in some peoples minds . UF won't go OOC for a good game because the Colts and Steelers aren't available.
