Triplet Update

Featured Replies

I put a post in my old IVF thread but I thought it was more appropriate to start a new one.

We had an ultrasound on Monday (30 weeks) and the 3 boys are already breaking records. They weigh 3 lb 5oz, 3lb 9oz and 4lb 1oz. My poor wife is struggling but she is a trooper. Current target date is 2/5. Keep us in your prayers.

Very exciting. I will keep your wife in our prayers. I am sure she is getting uncomfortable.

Sounds like they are growing very well. My twins were born at 34 weeks. My little girl was 6 lbs even, and my boy was 4lbs 1 ounce. They spent about a week in the NICU. Do you have names picked out yet?

Total of 11 pounds of babies. Each day is a struggle for her. We go twice a week for ultrasounds and monitoring. That gets her out of the house for a bit.

We have names picked but they are a secret. When we found out they were all boys, we decided we would keep the names a suprise. That is driving the grandparents crazy.

INCREDIBLE NEWS!!!! I'm so happy to hear this, I was thinking about your triplets just a few days ago. Isn't it so funny the way our lives are intertwined on this site? Anyway, your poor wife--she has my utmost sympathy and admiration. :thumb: Please keep us updated as it gets closer and tell your wife that this particular mother thinks she must be awesome!

Great news, and keep us posted.:thumb:

Love the ultrasound picture. Have you had one of those 3 D ultrasounds? Those pics are unbelieveable! Wish they had those in my day!

I would love to but the cost for triplets is too much. Also, we will have plenty of extra expenses coming very soon.

It is going to be a wild ride.

When you see me in a gym and want to hold a baby, just come over and ask. We will not mind at all. :thumb:

I may take you up on that. Although I'm much out of practice.

WOW! Very exciting! Congrats and good luck.

Well, in a month you will see them with your own eyes. How very exciting for you and your family!

No doubt this month will be very stressful for you and especially your wife. I imagine it is very tough to sleep with three boys running around inside!

If I had one piece of advice (and I know you didnt ask!), accept help! No doubt friends and family will offer to help out in the upcoming months. Say yes, but say yes as it fits into your family's needs. You dont want to be overwhelmed with well meaning visitors hanging around while you and your wife are exhausted. However, allowing a couple at a time, if it gives your wife an hour to nap.....awesome! Your friends and family want to be helpful, so USE IT! You will need it!

You will need it for sure!!! We took the night shift for some friends who had triplets. Was a full time gig. By the time the first was fed/burped/diapered and asleep second was up to be fed/burped/diapered and put back down, then the third. After the third was back down, the first was just about waking up. Amazing, but a ton of work!!!
