Javier Vasquez, formerly of the Braves and (I think) 2nd in the Cy Young, is now a Yankee.

Now onto Bay And/Or Holliday. Baseball is a going to be a joke next year.

Hate to see the Braves lose him but they are selling high on him in hopes that Lowe will have a better year next year.

It's a trade folks, not a "purchase" of a hired gun.

Not sure how I feel about this. The Braves still have a good rotation with Lowe, Vazquez, Hudson, Kawakami and Jair Jurrjens...but I liked Vazquez.

So the Yankees rotation now is Sabathia, Burnett, Vazquez, Petitte, and Chamberlain? That is pretty good. Like HT said, next year is going to be a joke.

I hope the Braves use the money they save in this trade (12 million) to make a move for Jason Bay or Matt Holliday.

 

Or at least go after Mark Derosa or Jermaine Dye.

Having no salary cap makes it a bad league imo. The Yankees have a distinct advantage every single season, and quite frankly, they should win the world series every year.

I strongly dislike this move. I liked Vasquez a great deal. I don't think the Braves should be leaning on Lowe.

I like this move if the Braves use the money they saved to go get Matt Holliday or Jason Bay.

 

If that's the case then the Braves add Holliday/Bay, Melky, Dunn, and a really good pitching prospect for Javier Vazquez.

I'm starting to dislike baseball. As much as I hate to say it. You can't be a happy rooting for any team besides the Yanks, Red Sox, Phillies, Angels, Dodgers, and we'll throw in St. Louis. Outside of those 6 teams, you can't hope for anything more than a playoff run.

I understand this, you're not telling me anything that I haven't heard a million times.....especially when I proudly wear my Yankees gear, however, they don't win the WS every year. The system is flawed, but there's really not much anyone can do.

Braves will not add Bay or Holliday. They will likely add one of these options: Nady, Byrd, Derosa, Damon (less likely).
