The Yankees spend around $200 million on their payroll (they have for the last few years) and before that it was ALWAYS over $100 million. If they sign Holliday or Bay, it will be around $220 million this season. They have a CLEAR advantage over every other team. Therefore with this clear advantage they should win every single year. They have an all-star roster.

Says the Braves have restocked their farm system and could make a run. Padres aren't said to be trying to trade him though. Would be great if the Braves could make this move. Every team in the majors doesn't have $200 million to throw around. In the NFL there is a thing called revenue sharing, where the bigger market teams (New York) share revenue with the smaller market teams. I'm fairly certain (could be wrong) that MLB does not do that. Because of that, the Yankees have far more money and a much bigger advantage.

By the time he would be getting his huge deal, Freeman would be ready.

Is it the smaller markets fault that they don't have over 8 million people in their cities to buy merchandise, and spend money at the park. Baseball is so boring, the rich get richer, and it just takes a bunch of money to have a good team. Let's face the facts here. Every team in the majors doesn't have $200 million to throw around. Some teams pocket more in revenue sharing than they spend on their entire payroll. How is it the Yankees fault if other teams have poor management?
