Wow ... nice win for Clark County.

Great win and nice way for Purvis to get his comeback season going.

Huge win for the Cards! Keep moving on!

Solid win for the Cards. They trailed 15-2 to start the game and by 10 in the 4th quarter. Gutsy effort that speaks a lot about these kids' character and work ethic.

Memphis Central's only two losses this year are to Holmes (45-40) and Clark Co (63-61). I think it's safe to say that they'll be happy when they leave the state of KY.

I really like Clark Co to win this. I don't see either McEachern or Trinity beating them in the semi's.

Finals will be a battle with either Easten or Shelby Co (Yes, I'm saying Eastern will beat the KCC-Seneca winner), but I just can't see anyone beating them right now.

Box Score:

Central: 19-12-18-12--61

Clark Co: 12-14-13-24--63

Memphis Central- Peete 19, Farmer 18, Stokes 8, Applewhite 8, Harmon 4, Clear 2, Johnson 2

Clark Co- Stenzel 24, Zollo 12, Purvis 10, Rogers 9, Daniels 8

Game stats

Just got in from the game....WOW... what a finish by Purvis. He was also named player of the game. GRC did not play well at all tonight, so to get the win over a very good Memphis team says volumes about the heart this team has. Robbie Stenzel made some great moves to the basket and great passes, he wasn't going down without a fight.

The last 3 minutes of the game Memphis played...not to win, but not to lose and GRC took advantage of it. Our traps really shook them up and we inched our way back into the game. GRC never led in the game till the final buzzer. Way to go PURVIS. :ylsuper:

Robbie Stenzel finishes with 24 points and eight assists Great game Robbie!!!!!!

Way to go GRC......this team is something special.:thumb::thumb:

Talked to Kindred at the game and he hopes he will be able to play Monday.

It's certainly not unrealistic to say Clark County is the best team in the state right now.

I was thinking the same thing.

Depending on how things go the rest of this tournament, I think an Eastern/Clark Co match up would settle what order the two best teams in the state are at this point.

The place erupted when Purvis hit that shot....yes it was priceless to be there.:thumb:

Purvis is a great kid. Coming off a knee injury that sidelined him all last year. Willing to come off the bench early in the season this year.... pretty awesome for him.

Congrats to the Cards. Keep representing the 10th well.

Jody Demling from the CJ:

The shot of the tournament and maybe the best game-winning shot I have ever seen - one step across half court and Travis Purvis nails a three-pointer for Clark County at the buzzer. The Cardinals won 63-61 and it was a great game. They trailed by 10 points heading into the fourth quarter when junior Robbie Stenzel took over. Stenzel had 10 points and four assists in the final period and was sensational, driving into the lane and either dishing off or making a short jumper. He just keeps improving.

Clark County junior Vinny Zollo only hit 5 of 12 field goals but finished with 12 points and nine rebounds and really has made huge strides.
