Very few bowl games actually sell out.

 

I tried getting tickets to the Flordia State game 2 years ago and when I called was told it was sold out. I assumed that was the case again for this game. I might just make some plans on attending tomorrow.

This one is not sold out and tickets on ebay are pretty cheap.

Music City Bowl two years ago did indeed sell out and pretty quickly. There are still tickets available through ticketmaster for this.

If you want to go, I would check ebay. There are some really cheap ones on there.

Ticketmaster still has some lower level and club seats as of this morning.

That's what I understand as well. However, I believe that the only sellouts at the Music City Bowl were 2 of the games when UK played. Makes sense. UK fans travel & close proximity. That is why Nashville loves to see the Cats football team coming to town in December. It is what the bowl games are really about, ... $$$$$

I wonder how much the "old news" aspect of playing again in Nashville will depress the Wildcat fan turnout?

It hasn't so far but at some point, it could have an impact. I do hope it doesn't become the Humanitarian Bowl where Boise St used to play in every year. Well not every year, but in 1999, 2000, 2002, 2005 they played in this bowl on their home field. Nashville is starting to become UK South.

 

If UK fans are 'tired' of playing the same bowl game 3 of the last 4 years, .... they need to look to the past and appreciate the present. I know that I will be there. Was at the 2007 bowl, had to miss last year's in Memphis due to scheduling conflicts, but look forward to going back!

Not much. Most of the fans remember when there were 3 and 4 win seasons only longing for a Bowl. To go four straight years is an accomplishment. Now, the next step is to get into the top 4 of the SEC, where you are a choice for a BCS Bowl or going to the Capital One Bowl or Outback every year. Easier said than done.

I understand what you're saying. At some point, however, fans get spoiled and expect bigger and better things (we even saw a few smatters of that grumbling on here). Even long-suffering UK fans.

If you go by how easy it is to get tickets, it seems they are easier to get this year. Less of a demand, but still will more than likely be a sell out come kickoff.

:thumb: True. Most predictions on here (at 5-7 to 6-6 at best) were based on the fact that UK was bringing back the fewest number of returning starters (10) of any SEC team. They exceeded expectations. I don't EVER remember a UK team bringing back so few starters and still making a bowl game or having a winning record. It tells me that the foundation is in place and it won't be long before we can compete for a top 4 SEC finish. Heck, they competed for that this year, just fell short. Outside of the UF and Alabama games, they had chances in all of the other games. Slow progress, ... but progress none the less!! But the depth and talent has obviously improved.

FF and I and 2 others are going to the game. Any suggestions on where to stay?
