Joseph Addai (vs. NY Jets) - No guarantee he'll play the whole game as the Colts are notorious for resting their regulars when everything is clinched

 

Ahmad Bradshaw (vs. Carolina) - Coming on as of late, as is the entire Giants offense...the o-line is opening up more running lanes, and Bradshaw has been getting a similar amount of touches as Addai. The drawback, he's not the primary red zone back like Addai...the upside, the Giants are fighting for their playoff lives against a team that's ranked #26 vs. the run. Derrick Ward rolled up 215 yards at home against Carolina late last season.

 

Steve Smith (@ NY Giants) - Also playing well lately. They're playing the Giants, so there's a chance he may not do much. However, the G-Men have allowed some pretty good receiving performances against them at various times this season. Smith will always play hard if he's on the field.

 

I can play two. I'm pretty much set to roll with Bradshaw and Smith. Considering that Bradshaw has been getting about the same touches and production in recent weeks, I feel like the risk of Addai getting pulled early in a game against a pretty good defense in the Jets is too much to stake the championship of my league on. I'm not confident that Smith will have a great game either, but he's the type of guy that's capable of a big TD catch on any given play against any team and that one play, if it happens, is enough for a decent game.

 

I'll roll the dice with the guys I know will be playing for 60 minutes and hope it works out. I really hope Ahmad Bradshaw can match what his predecessor did against the Panthers almost one year ago.

Wouldn't care about this game since it is a consolation bracket matchup. Looking at my WRs should be pretty obvious why. Anyway I am going up against someone who has never beaten me at ANYTHING and I need to keep the streak alive.

That's who I'd go with assuming all are healthy and expected to play their normal roles. Brohm is starting in Buffalo. He may try to force the ball to Owens.

malachicrunch, I think Rivers has more TD passes but Schaub has more yards. It's a flip of the coin, really.

 

Pep Rock, coop's right. Sit SJax if DeAngelo doesn't play. As for WRs sit Washington. He's way too inconsistent. At least Walter showed something last week and Nicks is always a good bet for a long TD. And of course, always start DeSaun.

I like Schaub's matchup @ Miami better than Rivers in Tennessee on Christmas night. The Titans defense is much improved, so their pass defense rankings are a little misleading. Not saying they're great vs. the pass now, but their early performances were abysmal, so they're undoubtedly rated lower than their current performance, IMO. But, Rivers is hot and the Chargers can do it against anybody, so I really don't think you can go wrong here.

 

If DeAngelo is out, then that definitely makes the decision between Stewart and Jackson much tougher.

He's been running well, and getting about equal touches as Jacobs...and about the same amount of touches as Addai. Plus, the Giants offense seems to have found its groove. Like I said, the downside with him is that Jacobs is the primary red zone back.

 

To be honest, after I thought about it a while, I was sold on Bradshaw. I was trying to decide between Smith and Addai. I think the fact that Ward had a monster game as the Giants backup against Carolina about this same time last year was the deciding factor. Man, I'd love to get a repeat. That's asking a little much though...I'll settle for 75-80 total yards and a TD.

 

All I know is that if the two I started don't score much, I really hope Addai doesn't end up playing the whole game and scoring a couple of TD's. I hate the Colts...even more now! Caldwell won't say what he plans for his starters, but their past record says they'll be very careful with them. Too much risk...if I lose, I absolutely don't want it to be because my RB only played 10 snaps before getting the hook.

Bradshaw has 23 carries and 7 receptions for 191 yards and 3 TD's in the past two weeks.

 

Addai has 32 carries and 8 receptions for 189 yards and 0 TD's.

 

Smith has been targeted 20 times with 11 receptions, 240 yards and 2 TD's.

 

I'm going with the hot hands.

 

I also started the 49ers defense against Detroit instead of the Eagles against Denver. I hope that pays off. I need it to pay off.

That's not a good situation to be in...I would think even if DeAngelo played he wouldn't run the ball all that much. Check the Carolina injury report tomorrow before the Chargers game. If Deangelo misses practice again tomorrow I wouldn't play him.

OK So I went with Rivers over Schaub, Sproles over Williams, and Santana Moss over Garcon.

Rivers and Sproles have done well so far.
