We often hear how sports isn't the most important thing in the world. But this article I think demonstrates how it can be used to make tough situations better. Tyler Combs you are a class act from the word go! It was nice that the Birds "Big Uglys" got their mugs shown this year. The line in my opinion is one of the biggest if not the biggest reason Highlands back-up QB has been able to be so reliable.

Didn't know that about him. I do know that he's really good about encouraging and inviting the younger linemen to work harder. Thanks for sharing.

I agree about the line playing a huge role in Towles' development. As a former lineman I can only marvel at the time he's often given to throw.

Great story. A lot of kids could have quit, this says a lot of about his character. Adversity does not build character, it reveals it. Combs has character.

Nice article about a very nice, polite and respectful young man. Tyler has taken adversity and turned it into opportunity. Well done young man, well done. :thumb:

Wow is all I can say after reading that article. That kid has a ton of drive in him and perseverance. I saw both Deirig and Combs at Urban Active this summer working out with former Bird lineman Ryan Ball and he was putting them through some grueling workouts. It is quite obvious the results for both Deirig and Combs are coming to fruition with their play on the field.

Great article and thanks for sharing with us on BGP.

Great article about Tyler. You won't find many other young men as well rounded as him. Congratulations Tyler, well deserved. Keep up the good work!:thumb:

Didn't know that about him.

I hadn't heard this story either. What a role model he is, in the truest sense! He's what every student and every athlete should aspire to -- especially those facing tremendous adversity. I'm sure his dad will be watching tonight, and is very proud of what Tyler has accomplished. :thumb:

Nice article about a very driven young man. Always good to have a leader in the middle of the Oline.

Excellent! Good job young man!

Great article on Tyler... All GREAT teams start at CENTER!
