I remember the thread you're talking about. We are definitely talking two different things. Before we went into Iraq, I was (surprise, surprise) very vocal about my thoughts that it was completely and utterly both unnecessary and wrong. Posters kept telling me it was to oust Hussein, and I said that I thought that could be achieved with an assassination. Then, I was told that the CIA/US didn't use such actions these days. I was skeptical, but there's no way for me to refute it, so I can't say anything. I'm still skeptical, btw.

I remember, RM. You were one of a very few against it from the onset.

Regardless of anything else, he is just another politician, pure and simple. All the rhetoric we see in every campaign turns up meaningless after the election is over and all the dust settles.

 

We still have Washingon DC chocked full of too many worthless politicians on BOTH sides of the aisle.

I think it's unconscionable that there are 40-some million uninsured in this country.

 

Significant emission reductions, treaty or no.

 

NCLB reforms. Increased emphasis on and funding for early childhood education.

 

I agree with the note re. inexperience. I'm still happier, however, to have his inexperience over 4 more years of what we got from 2000 to 2008.

If we're in the business of permitting other nations to experience democracy, there are a whole bunch of places on which we can declare war.
