July 16, 201016 yr When anyone has a good answer to the reason for the Mideviel Warming Period this may be worthy of discussion. After taking a few statistics and probability classes on the way to a masters in mathematics I can say securely that the analysis that has been used to back global warming is pure fraud. Anyone can fit curves and extrapolate what they want when they manipulate or ignore contradictory data points. That is what they did. All to establish a new currency - carbon credits. They were going to create money out of nothing. Just like Bernie Madoff. As my old statistics professor once said: 'There are lies. There are darned lies. Then we have statistics.' I have spent the last 26 years sorting through the dung heap that the drug companies send my way packaged as 'information',then watching them have their products recalled left and right. I have watched them place millions of dollars in escrow accounts to pay off the lawsuits they KNOW are going to come (just watch the ads on daytime TV from the lawyers:'If you have been injured by 'X' you may be entitled to compensation). I have seen the FDA declare as 'non-pharmaceutically active',perfectly good CHEAP remedies for diarrhea,Styes,cough and leg cramps (among others) and have them replaced by products which cost 10 times more and are no more effective or LESS effective that what they removed. The scientific method has been replaced by the 'we believe whatever who has the grant money' method,so sorry if I tend to be sceptical about anything the drug companies tell me. Science,true science,ABSOLUTELY depends on allowing opposing viewpoints to be entered into the equation and put to the test. Any group of scientists that ridicule another group for having an opposing viewpoint,no matter how ridiculous or against popular belief it is,are not scientists. They are propagandists at best,total idiots at worst.

July 18, 201016 yr CRU may lose DOE funding. http://wattsupwiththat.com/2010/07/18/doe-funding-for-cru-placed-on-hold/ A spokesman for the DoE said: “The renewal application was placed on hold pending the conclusion of the inquiry into scientific misconduct by Sir Alastair Muir Russell.” Muir Russell published his report earlier this month. It said that the rigour and honesty of the CRU scientists were not in doubt but criticised them for “a consistent pattern of failing to display the proper degree of openness”.
