I uploaded it to youtube, the insight endzone replay from behind the play shows him with the ball as everyone sweeps right, this is our pressbox tight view and shows him pull it up and go.

The quarterback may have touched the ball, would that make this legal if 5 players on the line in 50-79 numbered jerseys?

Our def coordinator says the rb's were in motion as well, that was close and wasn't called in any case.

 

After this play all the refs met in the endzone and the white hat appeared to be asking ewveryone what they saw, then he shook his head and signaled touchdown again. I didn't envy the officials down there tonight at all, had to be a tough game for them as well.

I know this does not cover what constitutes a legal snap but it shows another angle that makes it illegal. IMO

You obviously know more then me, but I think you may be mistaken here. My son was a center, snapped the ball, the QB never had control of the snap and ball was on the ground. My son was blocking and looked down and saw the ball on the ground, he didn't know what happened, but picked the ball up and advance it 30 yards. Our team was penalized for "Illegal touching" 5 yard penalty and lose of down. The official explained to me that the person off the line had to have control of the ball before the snapper could control the ball. If another lineman picked it up, it would have been legal, but not the snapper.

Exactly, that is what stopped the old "Fumble rooskey".

 

That shows it pretty clearly.

We can talk about it all we want but Male won and the barrel is theirs. Time for the playoffs!

YES!

 

7-2-4...A snap shall be such that the ball immediately leaves the hand or hands of the snapper and touches a backfield player or the ground before it touches an A lineman.

 

That was not a legal snap.

Yes. We missed the playoffs, but I wouldn't say BECAUSE of this game. If Manual had won, we would have been in, that is a fact.

Look at the field conditions in the video above. Will Manual be able to get this field in any respectable condition to host a playoff game? I realize it is the same fo rboth teams when playing the game, but this does not lend to the best game possible. Any input from the Manual faithful?

If it does not rain anymore it will be alright but if it rains this week it might still be a mud bowl.

Very shallow win for Male. Kids played a good tough game, that kind of play is sad. Coach Redman obviously practiced and perfected that. I am embarrased for Male. Saw the video on Youtube, sad for a game that is anticipated all over the State, a great rivalry with great respect.

I'd rather have a "shallow" win, than a loss. Key word is Win.

No dog in this fight either, but NEVER bet against Redman when he makes it "us vs. the world".

 

Not only Manual Stadium, but MANY fields will need much T.L.C. this week to get ready to play. The ones that are void of grass will be like a parking lot once the 1st freeze hits. Big run of sand and "diamond dry" this week around the Bluegrass.
