I also check out the other respective games for the other highlights that I do. Another way that I choose the music, I will ask the seniors what some of their favorite songs are and see if any of them "feel" right or "fit" the highlights. Another question though, what editing systems do you use or suggest? I use the Casablanca stand alone editing system.
October 29, 200916 yr There are some great tracks on Madden, obviously they are developed for action clips. I use Final Cut Pro, I have other friends, studios that use Window based systems that do excellent work. I just happened to be comfortable with Apple products. Why did they pull the samples last year of different videos, I enjoy seeing what other people produce.

It is very user friendly and naturally intuitive. It also has some really nice effects and transitions. I would highly recommend it for someone getting started. I just switched to Sony Vegas Pro this past spring and like it really well. It is more complicated but once you get used to it, there are numerous functions that are very helpful. I also use Cool Edit Pro for any audio touchup editing (eg. cutting out something a nearby coach or fan may say that is audible which you don't want the kids to hear or in some cases, anyone under the age of 21). I bought my first HD camcorder several months ago, but have only used it for a few games. Most the videos I do for kids or teams are from videos that they provide me. Normally, I will try to get to a few of each team or player's games to get some footage on my own as well. I also get input from the kids to find out what songs they like and see how they would fit into the video. One coach had a specific song for a specific game that he wanted me to work in, and I am doing that. Another team told my daughter a specific song they wanted me to use for a specific game. As long as it doesn't contain any bad language, I always oblige as the video is for the kids. Sometimes you can find clean versions of songs which contain some profanity, but I always listen to make sure that it really is a 'clean' version. I also work in some sound effects (eg. an explosion on a big hit, laughter on something that was funny, cartoon slipping sound if a kid is slipping or sliding, train sounds, etc) at various times to add the effect. Captions on big plays, slow motion replays of certain very impressive plays, etc. I have a section devoted to the seniors which is always a big hit. Another thing that is fun is if you have access to videos of the frosh/jv games, ... you can do a quick hitter, movie trailer type of short video of 'Coming Attractions' that plays before the main video. The younger kids who don't see varsity time love that (as do the parents). I only wish that someone would have done these sorts of things when I was playing 27 years ago. I would love to have some highlights to show my kids.

October 31, 200916 yr I always like watching the videos with rap in them. I just think it goes better with the big plays. Half of the amazing Noel Divine video was the fact that it was set to Lil Wayne's King Kong remix.
