October 25, 200916 yr I don't know about that. He runs a different offense when Collaros is in there compared to Pike. With Pike, it's drop back and air it out. With Collaros, it's more moving around the pocket and designed running plays for Collaros. He plays to his QBs strengths. He doesn't put Collaros in and expect him to do the exact same things Pike does. I would argue that Pike is goes against his normal scheme. BK seems to of always preferred a mobile QB throughout his career, and even at UC. They run the same offense with both, Collaros just has the run option more. The passing patterns, etc. looked the same to me.

With the exception being that Collaros doesn't have near the arm that Pike has, so the deep outs are not in the playbook like they are with Tony on the field. The playbook was definitely changed to fit what Zach can do best...

October 26, 200916 yr UC is having a great year. They need to play some of the big boys though with a Big East schedule that isn't too complicated (2 tough games with S. Florida and Pitt). I would suggest trying to strengthen their schedule next year. Didn't they play Oklahoma last year?

October 26, 200916 yr This performance by the #2 qb can only hurt the Heisman chances for Tony Pike. While that's obviously not the priority for him or the club its going to weigh into the minds of the voters. If there is already a "system qb" label and the #2 comes in and tears it up...

That's coming from someone who a)watches them daily and b)recognizes what they do weekly. Voters do not have that same exposure. They can simply go by the outcome and boxscore.
