How about that Great Ravens offense we heard so much about. I told you all that the Bengals was going to be the best defense that the Ravens have seen this year, and well we seen how well they did against them.:sssh:

From what I can see on that clip at the 2:05 mark, it looks like Lewis' helmet hits his own man (and you see him grabbing his head when he's down on the ground) and his shoulder pad hits Johnson's helmet.

I never have understood why some of you all get so down on Palmer. Its like if he is not perfect, some of you all think he sucks. 2005 must have spoiled a lot of you all. People say he hasn't been the same since the knee injury, but in 2006 he still made the Pro Bowl and was the MVP of it. He even put his team in position to make the playoffs that year, however coincidence the special teams not only tried to blow it, they actually did. Then 2007 the team just got bad from the offensive line, to receivers not playing hard and a bad defense. Of coarse he was not going to look as good. Then last year he was hurt all year. So have to realize the man is shaking off the rust still. Besides the Delay of games, he played great today IMO. Reed would have picked off any QB on that one pass, Palmer made the right read. However sometimes other great players make great plays, and Reed did. Palmer led this team to over 400 yards against this Ravens defense, so I think the rust is coming off. So I think we are getting closer to seeing the 2005 and 2006 version, just have to be patient and realize there has been a lot of things that changed since then.

 

Now if you all want to get all over him for the Delay of games I am all with you all on that. It happens all the time, it seems like the center and him can't get on the same page to snap the ball at the right time. They have to fix that.

Are you filling in for Mal right now or something? Usually he is the Bengals fan that really only says bad things about them and not giving them much credit.

 

I mean basically from everything I read, you must think that the Ravens think that the Ravens lost the game more than the Bengals won it. I mean honestly if the Ravens won it would have been the other way around, most people would have thought the Bengals lost it more than the Ravens won it. The Bengals basically dominated this game, and should have won by more than they did. The defense gave up one touchdown, and it came on a great play by the runningback, and just the Bengals not finishing the play. All Leon Hall had to do was actually try there, and Rice doesn't go anywhere. The Bengals were definitely the better team today, and deserved to win.

 

I watched the game & thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm not filling in for mal, but I'm not as quick as many others are to hate on Ray Lewis. He is an enforcer, and sometimes he plays dirty; however, this was not one of those times.

 

The Bengals won this game. They played very well, but the Ravens put themselves in a position to win this game at the end. Instead, their defense committed multiple penalties on the last drive, which is very uncharacteristic of them. It's a great break for the Bengals, and I'm glad that it happened. I fully expected the Bengals to score on that last drive, but I did not think that it would be because of the Ravens' lack of discipline on D. Regardless, I'll take it however we can get it.

 

It's amazing how quick BGP is to jump all over somebody for saying something. I stand by my statement that Ray Lewis' hit was not a dirty one.

 

The bottom line is that we're 4-1 and that's something I never would have imagined. I knew the Bengals would be solid this year, but nobody envisioned wins over Pittsburgh and AT Baltimore.

He still isn't the same as pre-knee injury, and you're right any QB that would make that throw would get picked. He hit Reed in stride better than he did Caldwell to end the game. Much like he did Woodson in week 2. Reed came flying from the snap of the ball. The safety coming all the way across the field makes it far from the right read.

First off, anyone that says they wouldn't take Ray Lewis on their team is lying.

 

Secondly, I didn't think the hit on Estaban was cheap. It was probably illegal but it wasn't cheap. Its how you play the game. The rule to protect a defenseless receiver is the right rule but it doesn't mean the hit was cheap.

 

Heck, that hit wasn't much different in impact than JJ's on Heap.

First of all I do agree with you that the Ray Lewis hit was not cheap, it was illegal but it was not cheap or dirty at all. Stuff like that does happen in football...My point being is that you keep making it sound like it was more of the Ravens losing it than the Bengals, I disagree and I think most would. If the Bengals lost then it would have been because of the Bengals losing it. How isn't he? I mean he was great in 2006 the season right after the injury. So he showed he was just fine still after that. The team itself changed a lot after 2006 though, and his play did go down just like any other QB would have if they were QB of the team then.

 

As for that play QB's go through pre-reads before the snap. Before the snap Palmer saw the one safety blitzing, and Reed on the other side of the field. So the read would be to go with the quick slant to where the safety was blitzing from. It was just a great individual play by Reed plain and simple. He is probably the only safety in the NFL who is able to pull that off. If Palmer is so bad at reading defenses, I don't think he would be so good against the Ravens in his career, and probably would have had more interceptions than just that one today. It was just a great play by a great player in Reed, those things do happen.

Its funny how we all are guilty of still finding stuff to argue about after a win. We must all like having something to argue haha.
