I felt like that holding penalty on that long Cobb run was really a killer. Without that call we had the ball around the 15 I think first and ten. UK showed it still can find ways to lose a game it very well should win.

UK's defense has to be able to stop them at the end, poor tackling by the CB on the first conversion and our LB or safety have to stop the last 3rd down conversion. Johnson is a little overrated in my opinion as a LB, I think maxwell makes more plays.

 

Micah Johnson is WAY overrated!! Get him in pass coverage against a running back coming across the field and he is easy picking. Florida killed us last year on that very play.

What gets me about UK is how long it takes to develop players. It's sad that freshman all over the country play and contribute on their teams yet any freshman at UK doesn't seem to be ready till their juniors, take our corners for instance, I don't care how young they are or how inexperienced today they flat stunk it up. I believe I could have picked up two high school kids this morning stuck a jersey on them and they could have done a better job. Is it just me or does anyone else think UK is doing a poor job in player development?

If Lindley is out next week we'll be in trouble.

 

He would've made a huge difference today. I think they win this one w/ Lindley in the lineup.

 

I agree, If those same passes are thrown at TL he would've picked at least 1 maybe 2...

Kentucky's freshman aren't ready to go up against the big boys because all of the freshman who are READY to play as TRUE FRESHMAN are at the bigger schools, such as Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, Texas, etc.

 

I agree that it is frustrating to see one of our freshman get dominated by a frosh WR though.

This proved a few things.

 

1. UK isn't very good.

2. Fidler isn't a better option that Hartline.

3. Randall Cobb is one of the best offensive players in the SEC. He's not Tebow, but other than Ingram and AJ Green I don't know if there's anyone I'd take over him in the conference right now. Maybe a few more, but he's got to be in the top handful.

4. UK probably won't ever beat Spurrier.

Blaming this loss on the coaches. Are you serious? I guess it was the coaches fault that special teams didn't make the tackles on the long kick off returns we gave up. I guess it was the coaches fault that we had two penalties on the 4th down plays late in the game. And I guess it was the coaches fault that TC Drake dropped the pass in the endzone that would have put the Cats ahead. My gosh some fans kill me.

 

I got tired of defending them on my own so I gave up.

The fake field goal was not a good decision. And even if it was they didn't even run ti correctly cause there wasn't any WRs to throw too. That whole play was a mess.

 

Also, it baffles me that Cobb wasn't at QB for the 2 point play. That was wayyyy worse than the fake field goal call.

I didn't realize we had to blame it on anyone. I'll take a coach who is willing to roll the dice and go for it.

Cobb doesn't have to pass all that often for UK to be successful. He can throw well enough to open the field up. He is our best option at QB, although I'm sure we'll get to hear soon: "Fidler is our guy if Hartline can't play..."

 

I dont think Cobb is the answer ,as QB last year. UK was 1-3 when he started at QB......? How can that be the answer?
