And why it's also the A-No. 1 reason why it's a risky move for the Jets. I'd be very leery of any player with a history of a petulant attitude who regularly gives less than his best effort. Not to mention the fact that he simply has issues catching the football.
October 7, 200916 yr ^You deal for a guy like Edwards when you think he's the missing piece to put you over the top. In NY, he may very well be. If they get the good Edwards, the weakest link on the Jets roster might be their rookie QB. Has a rookie ever won a Super Bowl? I'm almost positive there's never been one that's started from Day One and lead his team to a title. Sanchez has the best chance of that that I've ever seen. The Jets have the perfect roster to help their rookie QB. Good line, good backs, and a strong defense. Now they have a big time playmaker at WR to pair with the underrated Jerricho Cotchery and the talented TE Dustin Keller...and don't forget Leon Washington's versatility. He provides a solid option in the passing game as well. I really, really like this team. They shouldn't lose again until they go to Foxbourough in about 6 weeks or so.

October 7, 200916 yr Been a Jets fan almost all of my life, and I believe this team is one of the best in the league this season. I am very excited about this trade, as Braylon is one of my favorite players. He should perform up to his potential with the Jets because it's a fresh start for him and he knows it. I can't wait to see how he and Sanchez work together!

October 7, 200916 yr He's on one of my fantasy teams, so I watched him closely this past weekend agaisnt the Bengals. I think a big part of the reason he isn't catching any balls is because he's not open. I was amazed how many times he appeared to be tightly covered by the Bengals' decent-but-not-special CB's. He looks like he gives about 75% effort on most plays. I think the Bengals corners should actually start getting some more credit. If you think about it every single game this year, the other teams top receiver really has done nothing against them. Brandon Marshall did nothing, Jennings for Green Bay did nothing, Santonio Holmes did nothing, and now Edwards. The Bengals corners have done a great job against the top receivers of the other teams. Its the 3rd receiver of teams that have hurt the most.

If he lacked focus in a city like Cleveland then keeping it in the media frenzy they call New York is a tall task, and not a guarantee. If we both agree he's going to do well then why ya stepping on my toes here?
