Not so much that St. X is above HHS, but to have Trinity there. :idunno: Maybe! Remember on any given night. Just look at last week at HHS. Nobody gave them a chance but they came out and beat the "Bigger and Better" team. I guess it could happen in KY.

Why is Highlands #3 at 6-0 when they beat Cincy St X and both 1 and 2 were beat by X? :idunno:

Because this ranking system is basically useless. It would be like the BCS only counting in-conference games.

Put 100 people in a room together, and I'll bet we could find several who believe St. X is #1 and Trinity #2... It's not as if it's really unreasonably way off.

Especially if the room was located somewhere within the Gene Snyder.

 

I still like the BGP poll best, though. Has more rationality to the process.

Technically, BGP produces a ranking. The AP, I think, is the only actual poll that is published.

I think you're splitting hairs and playing word games here. If you define "poll" as a balloting situation where there is no interaction (supposedly?) among the pollsters, you are correct. However, the BGP Poll does solicit "ballots" - but the ballots aren't secret and the voters just debate those ballots...

That makes the BGP ranking a lot different than a poll.

Litkenhous computers and formula know Bardo is hurt so its computer brain lowered Highlands to 3rd. Pretty smart rankings!

This may be better suited for it's own thread, but is Highlands really better then X and T if Bardo is hurt? hockentucky said it as a joke but he's probably not far off. I know the bird fans are going to tear me apart for this one, but I just don't see how you can say that it's an absolute fact that they should be #1 right now when the information I have is that Bardo is injured. If I'm not mistaking even most HHS fans will agree that that will not be the same without him. Polls should reflect what kind of team can take the field right now, not what they had before an injury.

 

Before you start typing I FULLY understand that the Lit ratings are based on this data and that data, but I'm just asking about Polls and who is really the best as of today? Now I'll crawl back into my hole and wait for the chewing I'm about to get.

Come on haven't you heard that it is good for you to laugh every day. I like Simon Kenton higher than Henry Clay. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it just two weeks ago H.C. at S.K. beat they soundly.
