I don't know why but I like Pitt more and more each game I watch their defense. Also the Vikings, I love to watch the passion of Peterson and Farve play with. That duo is kinda like an old dog teaching a new dog every trick in the book.

As probably the only Charger fan on the board, I think the Steelers will cruise in this one. San Diego's offensive line is as makeshift as I have season since I've watched them (1979), can't run block, can't pass protect, and their defense isn't really all that good stopping the run, either. Football is a game about blocking and tackling, and I don't care how good Rivers, Jackson, and Gates are, they are not enough to beat the world champs.

 

I sort of agre with you, but the Chargers are capable of playing really good football when they get focused and bring it. And, you never know when that will happen.

 

Also, Pittsburgh is really struggling offensively and that causes me to hesitate on picking a blowout.

 

I imagine they'll sit LT until after the bye week, so he won't be availabe either. Is it possible LT's demise has more to do with an offensive line that isn't as good as it once was?

If the Steelers win this weekend at home, and I think they will, they will have Cleveland and Detroit before seeing Minnesota come to town before their bye week. I think you won't see Troy until the Minnesota game. That will instantly make the defense better. Lots of questionable decisions from the sidelines in these first 3 games. Also seems like young Mr. Wallace from Ole Miss is gonna be the receiver that they thought they were getting in Sweed. He's been awful to say the least. And Santonio Holmes still has the polishing spray on his hands from shining the super bowl MVP trophy because he hasn't caught a thing since.

 

I read today that Tomlin demoted Sweed to #5 receiver and will not be active this Sunday. Sean McDonald is now the #4 and will be active for the first time.

I dont know if Sweed was the reciever that did not turn in during the interception for a TD, but if he was I would cut him now! He has cost us two games in the last two years by dropping passes that Chris Berman could have caught. Holmes needs to realize the superbowl will not carry him forever. On the bright side, I feel that Big Ben is playing as well as ever, if not better.

Holmes has been known to have character issues. Last year it seemed that he erased those thoughts, this year, they seem to be coming back in full force.

I tend to agree, but they defied logic and won a Super Bowl without one last year. Go figure. I'm calling Big Ben the "eraser" from now, because he erases a lot of their offensive flaws with his playmaking ability and clutch performances.

Well, the running game may improve this week. Why you ask?!! Because Willie Parker has turf toe. Mendenhall is in the proverbial doghouse and that means that Mewelde Moore could see more carries. Not only is he as good an option receiving the handoff as the other 2, if not considerably better than Mendenhall, but he is a serious threat out of the backfield as a receiver, and is much better in pass protection than the other 2. So, from this Steeler fan's perspective, here's hoping that there's some inflammation of a certain toe this week.:clap:

^I started thinking about this after week two. Mewelde Moore might be P'burgh's best back. Or, at the least, what he brings to the table is the best fit for their offense, thus they're a better offense and team when he's on the field.
