Coach Lewis passed away on Thursday, September 24th. This man was a coaching legend. He won many championships at Wyoming (OH), and came to Conner in the early eighties and took them to two state championships winning one in 1983. I believe his overall record was 278-55. What a man. Coach Lewis was 83.

Hate to lose a legend like this. Sad news. Prayers for the family from Boyle County.

I remember his Conner team in '83 that won it all. Danville played them twice that season; a regular season blowout for Conner and then a Regional Final at Conner where the Ads played them much tougher. In fact, I've always looked at that experience as the confidence builder for Duffy's team to believe they could contend for and win the AAA state title the next year in '84.

A very good coach. The '83 team at Conner was very good. I think they lost the first two games of the year to Boone and Cov Cath and then ran the table, if my memory serves me right. Back then they played Boone twice a year.

Actually they lost to Shelby County in week one and beat Beechwood in week two.

Bob Lewis, legendary high school coach in Cincinnati at Wyoming High School and in KY at Conner High School has died. He was 83 years old.

 

He doesn't have the name recognition in the area like , say, Gerry Faust but he was every bit the coach as any coach who ever coached in the greater Cincinnati area.

Great man. Great coach. He doesn't have the name recognition that other Cincinnati legend coaches do but he was every bit the coach as any that have walked the sidelines in the greater Cincinnati area.

Thank you all for your prayers and great comments about him. I'm one of his grandsons and he was a great man. I remember all the football stories he told me and my brothers and I'm gonna miss hearing them.

I am a lineman but I did hear it when he watched play baseball when I dropped one
