Simon Kenton 2009/2010

What does Simon Kenton need to do to improve in 2009/2010? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

If Simon can rebound the ball and defend on the interior they should be a very solid team. Good Coach and postseason experience should make them a tough team to beat come 8th region tournament time.

I like there chances getting to play the region tourney at home. Few questions in the interior, but superior coaching and great defense goes along way.

This may be a faster sleeker team than in the past. Defense is always an ACE. 3 returning players with extensive state experience. A little more size would be nice. Need to see who steps up and fills out the 5th - 6th spots.

The region is at SK?

A bit smaller team, obviously, but this team will still be formidable, particularly with the region on their home court.

SK will need a lot of people to step up to cover the loss of scoring that they graduated from last years team. They should still be good defensively because that is Stowers type basketball. Rebounding and defending the post may be an issue with a much smaller team than in the previous years. Good luck SK!

Should be interesting season. Wainscott, Brown and Ponzer all return having been to state tourney in consecutive years. Not great height. 4th and 5th starters need to be sorted out. Wainscott and Brown looked very good in the summer circut playing with Tibbs (Scott HS), Allen - Towels - Ali (Highlands) and Beasley (Conner). Wainscott is strong at guard and will step into big shoes. Brown averaged 8 ppg when returning as the 6th man full time at mid-season from shoulder surgery playing the 3/4 positions. Defensively these two need to pull everyone together. Looking forward to another run!

Ponzer, Brown, And Pace need to be senior leaders. Ponzer will run the point, and Brown will need to be strong in the paint the rest will fall in place and the other players will play soundly and to their roles

When is the last time SK lost a district game? A regional game?

I thought that Wainscott was the point guard not Ponzer. Or has something changed?

Ponzer won't run the point, she will be at the 2 guard most likely. Look for Brown to play the 3 a lot too this year.

They have never lost a 32nd district game, from my knowledge. Not sure about regions but they have lost a regional game in the past couple years for sure.

SK should find out alot about themselves when they scrimage Casey County this Saturday Nov. 14th at Scott County and Casey County will find out if their guard play is good enough to handle the presure that SK will put on the ball after Casey lost all their guards to graduation.
