If this guy stumbled into someone's crop or lab wouldn't they have just shot him and dumped the body in a lake or something? I wouldn't think they would go to the trouble of hanging him in a cemetery.

Manchester, the main hub of Clay County, is an exit off the highway, with a Walmart, a few hotels, chain restaurants and a couple gas stations. The drive away from town and toward the area Sparkman's body was found is decidely darker through the forest with no streetlights on windy roads, up and down steep hills.

 

Kelsee Brown, a waitress at Huddle House, a 24-hour chain restaurant, when asked about the hanging, said she thinks the government sometimes has the wrong priorities.

 

"Sometimes I think the government should stick their nose out of people's business and stick their nose in their business at the same time. They care too much about the wrong things," she said.

 

That's really perplexing. The Census isn't sticking their nose into anone's business, per se. They're simply doing research (at this point) for a population count, as well as research for employment statistics and demographics. Maybe she doesn't know what a census worker does.

I remember Code Pink disrupting congressional hearings and the lady from Texas protesting the war. I remember some (briefly) trying to say 9/11 was a conspiracy, but the MSM including Fox gave no real legs to that story. I certainly don't remember him being called a racist by anyone other than Kanye West - no one of the true media political commentary like Glen Beck.

To be fair, Dubya was regularly called a fascist. But most of the vitriol against him was for his lack of intelligence and his cooking the books in order to invade Iraq.

My great-grandmother used to make the best Red Eye Gravy ever... she used fried ham drippings, a little coffee and some secret ingredients. I always figured the name came from the appearance of the hambone in the center of a ham slice which resembled a "red eye".

Clay County has to be one of the most corrupt/ruthless counties in the state of Kentucky. The things that have went on over there the past few years is unbelievable. Same goes for their neighboring county, Leslie.

Clay County has it's problems for sure, just as other/most counties do. One thing that makes Clay County different is the "March" we had a few years back and that the corruption is getting cleaned up. Over 3000 residents marched down 421 in opposition to corruption and drug dealers/abuse and it has received national attention. Many groups from around the country have contacted the organizers of the march trying to have one in their community. Clay County has been reaping the benefits of the march ever since. Clay County has many good hard working folks and we are proud to live here. Only the negative attributes get publicized. Yes, we still have some psychos like you have in your county but hey, pay us a visit before labeling us "ruthless" again please.
