I grew up in Florence and lived on campus at NKU, and had a wonderful experience. I wouldn't change it for anything in the world. And they have a great Psychology program with wonderful professors there. I minored in PSY.

 

Campbellsville is a nice little campus, I visited there when picking schools.

 

Georgetown maybe too, I don't know much about it but the campus is small with UK right around the corner obviously.

I've had friends attend both of those schools. The majority seemed to enjoy their experience at Georgetown much more than those who went to Campbellsville did.

 

Transy is another consideration. Great school.

Isn't Centre ridiculously expensive?

 

Just took a trip down there a few weeks ago. It's $39,000 a year to attend. But there is no way you could take a visit to that campus and not be totally impressed. It is first-rate all the way around.

Bellarmine is another campus that is well worth looking at, but it is also extremely expensive.

The price tag is going to be a factor. $39,000 is out of the range. She has great grades and a proven leader in her school. She currently has a 22 on her ACT and getting ready to take it again. Not enough, IMO, to get any type of academic scholarships (she is going to try though).

Not from Centre it's not. 33% of their incoming freshman have an ACT score between 30-36. They have several large endowments and are pretty good about partial academic scholarships, but you'd certainly have to be in this range to get anything meaningful.

Hanover is beautiful and has a great campus..

The reality is, with the type of schools that have been listed a 22 won't get a significant scholarship at any of them I'm familiar with. Plus---the small colleges are generally expensive when compared to large universities.

She got some high scores but did poorly in Math and average in Science. She has done alot more prep work, in all subjects but alot more with math. She is hoping to raise her score significantly.

I would recommend Union College in Barbourville,KY. My son graduated from there last year. The campus is nice. Most classroom sizes were around 15 students. Everyone is real nice from the college president on down. Everyone I met with the college always greeted me and my wife warmly. The college president Dr. Derosset always made a point to greet me and shake my hand when every we saw each other.

My daughter attends Mt. St. Joe's, and she loves it. She scored in the mid 20's on her ACT, and was still able to get an academic scholarship. By no means did it cover the full amount of tuition. But, it definitely helped her. this year at the Mount they did match her KEES money that she would have gotten had she went to a college in Kentucky.

My daughter is currently a sophomore at Georgetown College. Nice little campus and just a stone's throw from Lexington. She is majoring in vocal music performance and psychology. She hadn't even thought about psychology until second semester last year; but really likes the program.

 

My son graduated from Vanderbilt. A fairly small school nestled just off the main drag in a good-sized town. Fewer students that you might expect for an SEC school, and the academics are second to none.

All the Mid_South Conference Schools are very nice. Be sure to check them out. My son attends Lindsey Wilson College and loves every second he's there.

Awesome, and tell her not to give up hope. That's similar to me. My first score was a 25 and Math/English brought me down quite a bit. I raised it to 28 on my next test by studying Math a lot more.
