I believe this was the correct decision. This matter should not have been indicted. It sounds as if the Commonwealth Attorney was playing to the media. This has been traumatic for the Gilpin and Stinson families. God bless the Gilpin family.

I have a great deal of respect for Coach Mofield. But why is what I bolded the qualifier? For what it's worth, this was actually part of the bone of contention over how PRP handled this whole sorry situation.

For me and my house we serve the Lord and I am proud to say that! As for coach Mofield, I am glad that my sons have another Christian mintor. In todays world our kids need all of the positive role models that they can get. We are one generation away from not having a church. Our youth is our future. Everyone has the right in this great country to believe in what they want. Our kids do not have it like we did when we were growing up. The things we had at school I.E. Prayer in school, The ten commandments, and even our countrys pledge is being taken away. Football on Friday nights is just the small piece of the bigger picture called life. If I offended you in any way I am sorry, but it is my kids and our kids that we are taking about. And in todays world I want them to have every chance to succeed. And putting our Lord first is the first step.

You didn't offend me -- you'd have to be trying really, really hard to do that -- it's just that the statement you used implies that a non-Christian can't be a good person or a good influence on children. The same way it sounded when PRP's principal used that qualifier as the basis for his not investigating the Stinson case more diligently than he did (which, in turn, left JCPS open for a whole slew of lawsuits).

Some of the best people I know do not claim to be Christians. I did not want to imply that in any way. There are also some so called Christians that I would not want to be around my kids. I did not know the what the particulars were with the principle , I have a good friend on the PRP coaching staff that I played ball with in high school. Please foregive me if you or anyone else thought that was saying anyone is better just because of thier beliefs. I was talking about role models for our kids. In this screwed up world we live in we need all that we can get.

Yes. He was on Fox News a few minutes ago and said he will be teaching Web Design starting Thursday.

Cant blame him there. And as for any coach making these types of statements...lets face it, it happens quite a bit. Unfortunately for him, this tradegy occurred after such a statement was allegedly made. Do I think he said it, probably, but I have no idea.

The C-J's management of this story has been very disappointing. It seemed there was a definite vendetta there against Stinson, although I'm not sure why. I'd love to hear Frakes or Demling opine on this matter.

I'm glad to see Stinson was found not guilty. He's a good person.

Coach Stinson is a good man, this was a trouble thing for all parties. I believe no one was at fault, we must learn from this so it does not happen again. My heart goes out to the Gilpin family.
