I'm just saying in general. Like most country people don't know who some R & B singers are.

Its certainly changing. Its not like the old days when it was either/or. Plenty of "kids" know both genres today and like both genres today.

Look, for those who say Kanye is talentless, is indeed misinformed. I know he's a jerk and Mr. Bad Guy for ruining poor little Taylor's night, but not only is one of the top 3 rappers in the rap industry, but he is also one of the top 3 producers in the rap industry. He not only makes his money off of rapping, but he makes it off of producing which is something not a lot of artists(regardless of genre) can say. Not only is he notorious for saying and doing outrageous things in a public forum as this incident number 3. What he did last night got MTV ratings, and got Taylor and Beyonce even more fans and adulation and Kanye got publicity. No publicity is worse than bad publicity. He'll be on Jay Leno tonight. I also bet people will love Taylor and Beyonce even more which in turn means more money for the both of them. MTV loved this. How come no one is mad at MTV for allowing this to happen in the first place? I understand you guys hate Kanye now and I understand. He was wrong in his actions, but he is still a great rapper, producer, businessman and entertainer. Like him or love him, he is great at what he does.

You raise many good points.

He certainly is talented. I love "Golddigger."

He has had a lot of success on the production side.

He's always looking to have people say "did you hear what Kanye did?"

He was absolutely a horse's rear end in his actions last night.

Jay Leno certainly doesn't mind the news since KW is on Jay's first show tonight.

You're right that it's changing, but there is still a quite obvious divide between many of the hardcore fans of each. See post #137.

You left out world class turd.

I think it was as racist as it could be.

Once again, him being a great rapper is your opinion and not a fact. :deadhorse:

When you are listed as the number 4 earning rapper with well over in 42 million dollars a year in earnings from concerts and record sales I think your name and great rapper are in the same sentence. Your statement is akin to saying that Drew Brees isn't a good quarterback just because you don't like him or how he plays. Yes, it is your opinion, but it is not a fact. Kanye is indeed a great rapper, even though you think his rapping is awful is your opinion. Your opinion doesn't erase his earnings or the overwhelming majority of people worldwide who have proven that he is a great rapper. Non great rappers don't earn 42 million per year for their non great rapping. Just saying:idunno:

I know you guys are going to feel what you feel and say what you say, I just had to throw my 2 cents in.

For the record, I like some of his music, but not all of it. He is indeed very talented.

You left out world class turd.

I never said he deserved an award for Man of the Year.

I think it was as racist as it could be.

So was Joe Wilson, then.:idunno:

Are you really a rapper if your logo is a teddy bear? I thought rap ain't nothin but a g thang.

 Not all rappers are gangsters.

Kanye comes from an intellectual background, not a gangster background.

Could have fooled me.

As I've read this thread, I've thought about his mother, who must have cringed with horror when she watched. I have no idea about his music, and couldn't tell you much more about Taylor Swift, but what he did was beyond rude. He may have come from an intellectual background, but the manners his mother tried to instill didn't take, I'm afraid. Where did the days of respect for others go?

If you're talking about what Kanye did, it wasn't racist, it was classless. One can be lacking in class and never have on ounce of racism within.

His mother is dead.

His mother is dead.

Well then, she's rolling over in her grave.
