September 10, 200917 yr Yes, it's time for me to humiliate myself once again, by attempting the impossible feat of predicting the topsy turvy world of the NFL. NFC East Giants (11-5) Eagles (11-5) Cowboys (9-7) Redskins (8-8) NFC North Packers (12-4) Vikings (10-6) Bears (7-9) Lions (3-13) NFC South Saints (11-5) Panthers (11-5) Falcons (6-10) Buccaneers (3-13) NFC West Seahawks (10-6) Cardinals (9-7) 49ers (8-8) Rams (3-13) AFC East Patriots (13-3) Jets (9-7) Dolphins (8-8) Bills (4-12) AFC North Steelers (12-4) Ravens (10-6) Bengals (6-10) Browns (2-14) AFC South Titans (12-4) Texans (9-7) Colts (8-8) Jaguars (7-9) AFC West Chargers (13-3) Chiefs (5-11) Raiders (3-13) Broncos (3-13) Wild Card Round - Panthers over Giants; Eagles over Seahawks; Titans over Jets; Steelers over Ravens Divisional Round - Packers over Panthers; Eagles over Saints; Titans over Chargers; Patriots over Steelers Conference Championship - Packers over Eagles; Titans over Patriots Super Bowl - Titans over Packers How's that for homerism? September 10, 200917 yr Author And, 12 random predictions... 1. Adrian Peterson will rush for 2000 yards. 2. Michael Turner won't rush for 1300 yards. 3. DeAngelo Williams will validate his 2008 season with similar numbers in '09. 4. Nobody will know what's going on in Tampa. 5. The Seahawks will have a very good defense. 6. Frank Gore will have 1800+ total yards. 7. Steven Jackson will play all 16 games and he will have over 2000 total yards. 8. Tom Brady will throw 40 TD passes. 9. The Jets will have the top defense in the league. 10. Chris Henry will catch double digit TD passes. 11. LaDainian Tomlinson will bounce back with an LT-like season in 2009. 12. Eddie Royal will be Denver's best receiver, on the field and statistically.
September 10, 200917 yr Author You're off to a good start.:thumb: Why thank you...it doesn't really matter what you pick. There are always surprises that nobody, and I mean NOBODY, sees coming. Who saw the Falcons and Dolphins as playoff teams heading in to last season? Seriously? Something unexpected is gonna happen, so I try to pick it. I've yet to get it right. But, you can get the same old predictions from everybody else. 5wide gives you something to talk about.

The bolded are the only predictions I agree with... I don't usually, if ever, agree with these, but I definitely enjoy reading them. :thumb:

September 10, 200917 yr Author The bolded are the only predictions I agree with... I don't usually, if ever, agree with these, but I definitely enjoy reading them. :thumb: If I get time, I might add a little divisional analysis at some point. I went a little homerish with Tennessee in the playoffs...I'm not sure I actually believe they'll beat San Diego and New England to get to the Super Bowl. But, I'll go with that and the rest of the picks. I would be curious to see how an NFL season would turn out if nobody suffered a significant injury. You just can't foresee things like Tom Brady tearing an ACL in the first game, Plaxico shooting himself in the leg, two rookie QB and head coach combos in the playoffs, etc. That's what makes the NFL so entertaining to me.
September 10, 200917 yr Author  Yep, I'd say that is pretty random If Kris Jenkins stays healthy, I should have added. I like what they have on the field and on the sidelines with Rex Ryan. They should be really good.
September 10, 200917 yr Those look pretty good.....don't know about the Titans winning it all, but good. I think that it would be embarrassing if you had said that my Oakland Raiders would win it all. Later.
September 10, 200917 yr I think that's a pretty good prediction, but with the Panthers in the South and Viks in the North.
September 10, 200917 yr And I agree with your pick of the Packers. They will bounce back and be a good team this year.
September 10, 200917 yr If Kris Jenkins stays healthy, I should have added. I like what they have on the field and on the sidelines with Rex Ryan. They should be really good. I agree on all counts, however, they have 4 or 5 teams that should be easily ahead of them statistically, barring injury of course.
