When was the last time 84% of the people thought Trinity was going to lose a game?

 

It's not as high as 84% but just last fall 74% picked Trinity to lose to Louisville St. X in the playoffs.

When was the last time 84% of the people thought Trinity was going to lose a game? I'd venture a guess that maybe back in the mid 1990's when they lost to St. X 40-0. If this is not the case, you might have to go back to the early days in the 1960's to find such a large victory prediction for a Trinity opponent.

 

 

Actually 2005 Trinity-St.X prediction threads for the title game were along those lines. :thumb:

I was wondering when the last time both LSTX and Trinity lost on the same night if it were to occur this Friday.

 

2003 We lost to Manual and you lost to LexCath.

 

For what it's worth Male lost to Central that night too.

I don't think Trinity can hang in this game given the injury situation. If they were all healthy I would give them a chance to pull off the upset.

Does this game count as Harbin points? (I hope I have that correct.) If they still have Harbin points, exactly how do they work? Thanks.

 

Too early for Trinity with not as much ammo available as in the recent past. I think T will fight hard but come up short. May get worn down...I assume Elder is big.

 

This and next week are tremendous opportunities for T's players to learn and really mature and improve. That is exactly why Beatty scheduled these games. He is not hung up on wins and losses.

Elder is big on the lines but they are usually big on the lines. Not sure what T's strength is defensively but Elder is very balanced offensively. They are a pass first team, no question, and they run multiple sets. 3 to 5 wide, full-house backfield, the whole shebang.

 

Defensively, I would say they are average. Solid hitters, not exceptional tacklers but they get the job done. A couple of big linebackers (6'3"+) roam their secondary and hit like mack trucks. Watch out for #9...bit of "rough around the edges" sort of player if you know what I mean.

 

Should be an interesting contest.

How is Elder's line play on both sides of the ball? I remember the Cincy X game two years ago where Trinity had no shot of running the ball and am afraid it may be repeated this Friday in Price Hill.

I would love to see the upset, but I think Elder has the better team.

Would absolutely love to see Trinity win this, but I think you'll see the difference between the top levels of Kentucky and Ohio football in this one.

 

Haven't the top levels in KY faired pretty well against the top levels in Ohio in this decade? Wasn't it earlier this decade when Trinity the State Champion in KY beat Elder who ended up winning the State Championship in Ohio that same year? Then last year Trinity beat ST. X. So seems like the best team in Ky usually does pretty darn good against the best in Ohio. Maybe I am not remembering right but sure does seem like when one of our best in KY like Trinity plays Ohio schools, Trinity has won the majority of the time lately.
