Jeff Beck is great live. :thumb: Watched the concert dvd of him at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Festival a couple years ago and he was ripping.
September 8, 200917 yr Sammy's not bad himself. I love Sammy, but compared to these guys, as a guitarist he is just okay. Better singer/songwriter than guitarist. But he is better than the average bear.
September 8, 200917 yr Best guitarist I ever saw in person was Leo Kottke. Winner, winner, chicken dinner. "Vaseline Machine Gun," for starters. Saw him live at a dive once in Colorado.

September 9, 200917 yr Best guitarist I ever saw in person was Leo Kottke. Yeah, he's been pretty impressive what I've seen of him. Wouldn't mind catching him live. Mike McCready has always spoken to me. I've been diggin' on Eddie Hazel lately as well.

September 9, 200917 yr I cannot be convinced otherwise... Stevie Ray Vaughan was the best live guitarist to walk the earth. Nobody has as much passion, talent, and skill as he did. While opinions may vary on who truly was/is the best, ... SRV has to be in the conversation. Simply amazing. And to think, as soon as he got sober, (and according to many played the set of his life), he was tragically taken. Remarkable is an understatement.
