Who's bigger than Carrie Underwood in country music? How many? 1? 2?

 

There just aren't many who match to Jay-Z in the rap industry. Only a couple more rappers could sell like Jay-Z sells, and that's a generous couple. :notworthy:

Saw Mr. Carter on Maher's show. He is certainly a great success story and a strong interview.

When Carrie Underwood sells 26 millions records in the U.S.(she's currently at 9.7), becomes president of the biggest record label in country music, sell a clothing line in her name for 204 million, own the master's to her music, start a franchise of sports bars/ nightclubs, buy a stake in a pro team(Jay-Z has a stake in the New Jersey Nets) and find time to marry the most successful diva(male diva in Carrie's case) and release 10 albums in 10 years, then maybe she'll be on Jay-Z's level.

 

Not to mention, he didn't have American Idol to launch his career.

Jay-Z has had ten #1 Albums in a row, about to be 11 come 10-11(wow I just realized that date as I typed it). I was wondering why it came out on a Friday instead of the usual Tuesday. But that 11th will pass Elvis in a tie for second and 8 behind the Beatles at 19.

 

The funny thing is that Jay-Z's first and most critically acclaimed album, Reasonable Doubt , is his only album to not make it to number 1.

Not people who actually know what they are talking about. Kanye West's career was made by Jay-Z. Kanye owes his career to Jay-Z so he will never be looked at as being better than Jay-Z by those in the know. Plus, a lot of people would throw out Lil Wayne before Kanye. Kanye is great, but he has ways to go to catching Jay-Z.

 

Is it Jay-Z's fault that there are other talented people to choose from at the top and that in country there is only Carrie Underwood? I also thought the question was who is bigger overall, not who is bigger in their genre. They are both the biggest in their respective genre's, but Jay-Z is a much bigger and better catch at BOK than Carrie Underwood would be.

 

 

To put it in simple terms, Sean Carter is like the CEO/President/Spokeperson for the Rap/Hip Hop culture.

I'm listening to it right now and so far I've found it to be a very weak album...

Im pumped I love the Blueprint 3.

People shouldn't even put Kanye and JayZ in the same conversation.
