Of course they will need to pass at some point. However, what would ever make you think they can even be remotely successful? They don't practice it. They don't have a qb that can do it. They are playing Ohio State. Which of those 3 makes you think they can pass on Saturday?

Ricky Dobbs the Navy coaching staff said is one of the best dual threat QB's they have ever had. They also return 4 lineman. OSU respects what Navy can do, will they execute it is a different story. I hope to God they can't pass because the defense has been working on stoping the option all week.

I think this game will surprise people, I don't think Navy will ever have a legit shot at winning, but I think bringing in a triple option team to play in week 1 will catch the OSU D off guard. I could see Navy going up 7-0 and getting beat 24-7. It'd be a tough opening opponent for anyone in the country, you really don't see the triple option that much.

Navy actually does have a decent play action passing game. Where they get in trouble is when they have to throw it... Seen them play four times in person in the last four years and I can tell you, they will be a physical football team that will not just lay down for OSU. Look for this one to be a lot closer than the experts think.

 

Usually I only root for Navy against Notre Dame, but I am pulling for the mids in this one too.

I would love to see an upset, but no chance, as the Buckeyes will force them into passing downs and then the Middies have no chance. Pryor will rush for 2 TD's.

Whacky Lou Holtz brought up a great point last night. Why tOSU would want to schedule this game a week before the USC game is beyond me? They have to prepare for this non-traditional offense against a bunch of feisty guys that will injure some of your guys because of how they play (nothing illegal, just the style they play).

Reason: This game was on the Army schedule until last year when Army paid out of the contract and Navy picked up the game. So the answer is, OSU wasn't planning on playing a triple option team when they schedule this game (since it was scheduled during the Bobby Ross days at Army when they were playing a pro-style offense).

Its his first season as a full time starter. He is a good athlete, you can run Navy into the ground all you want, but in Columbus they respect what Navy may be able to do tomorrow and are preparing for it. OSU should win by 14-20 points but I do not think it will be a beat down as you said, although i'll take it.
