Looks like next weeks Danville/Franklin Co. game should be a good game...Two Teams that are struggling out of the gate...Should be a defining game for both teams...:thumb:

I like Danville in that one.

Bob Allen Pigskin Classic banquet was tonight in Danville and Aaron Stepp was the only head coach not in attendance. I hope he is game planning for Danville. I am planning on making the trip to Admiral Stadium.

Not one person on here has given credit to Holy Cross . Did Franklin County just forfeit ? Holy Cross dominated from the opening kick-off . Granted injuries do hurt but Franklin County is a 4A team and Holy Cross is a 1A team . There should be some depth in there somewhere . FC was bigger and probably faster than HC and yet HC withstood everything FC threw at them and basically handed it to them . The biggest diffenence I seen in this HC team as opposed to teams in the past was mistake free football AND the fact that Fletcher spreads the playing time around and doesn't play so many kids both ways . HC uses a lot of young players but they also use fresh players . Tip of the hat to HC and new staff for a job well done .

Not sure what you mean, are these players not that good.

Then I'll let you tell me what 2 "STARS" FC got from WHHS.

I'll comment, but you know that statement you made wasn't in curiosity on how they were doing. FC has been on top in Frankfort for quite some time and now they are in transition without a commitment to a scheme. Also they are very young and have some injuries, but they will have to dig down and work thru it. To answer your question, Anderson is doing great and Bowman got a late start and needs some time.

Being on top in Frankfort depends on how you look at it. If you are talking about beating a 1-A and 3-A team then yes that is true. If you are talking about playing in November and December then I would say they still need to work on that.

Young and injured are excuses, alot of teams have the same problems. As for the two transfers, seems you can live were ever and play were ever, but not a bad deal for Hills, heard they were more trouble than they were worth.

Hmm..County didn't beat that "3-A team" last year though. :ohbrother:

Did I say they were excuses? Nope! Try to remember we are talking about kids.

Here is the reality of things. Franklin County has lost two times total (one time to each school located in the county) since 2003. The X factor in alot of games was a young man named Kaelin Ammons to say the least and a very good O and D Line headed up by Coach Ledford. Now those "difference makers" are Corry and Weaver at the other two respective schools. In the grand scheme of things those two games mean nothing for post season play although trying to get to the second and third round of the playoffs is much harder with Catholic and Boyle in the way than say an Eminence, Ludlow, or Spencer County. Thats just 4A football, bigger schools and alot of tradition in the district opposite County so step up or go home. In regards to experience 10 kids started on offense for FCHS Saturday that had NEVER started on offense in a varsity football game and I had an ole football coach tell me one time that that for every sophomore that you start in high school football is a loss and County started 8 of them so get ready for a long year. Get ready for some great years in 2010 and 2011 but it will take some time, adoption of a scheme that fits the personnel and most importantly these players understanding that when you have averaged 8 wins a year since 2003 you don't just line up and bank on that...... you have to play one game at a time one year at a time and I think some people are satisifed with what has been done in the past instead of working for the future. Middle school success is quite forgotten if you don't get it done on the high school varsity level. Just my two cents!

Don't disagree with a word you are saying. Each level has it's own challenges. My point is don't put to much into being on top in the city of Frankfort.Or as one man once told me, winning the Fish Bowl gets you no where.

Great call, you struck the nail on the head.
