Raceland is lucky....no, we are blessed to have three qb's that imo could come in at anytime in any situation and do a very good job. Especially Farley and Rister. I would feel very confident with either one in there, both are top notch. I have heard some talk of a QB contrversey at Raceland this year. I don't think there will be any controversey at all. Whoever coach Vanderhoof and the staff starts and / or puts in will be the QB, no controversey, no problem:thumb:. A very good problem to have imo.

 

Also, I believe that Rister was out tonight along with Barr and C. Kelly, not sure. I now that Barr was out. Those three are all top 2-way starters. Rister is a all around excellent athlete that can play at qb along with other skill positions. Barr I hope will recover and show what a RB he really is, he imo would fit in the Carver/Denton mold of last season, C. Kelly is also a hard working RB and defender. I believe that Kelly led the Rams in tackles on that very strong defense last season (and that was wit te likes of Denton, Carver, Logan and others on that unit). So, with those three out and playing both sides of the ball Raceland was really out 6 starters vs. Boyd in this one.

 

Wow last year I saw Rister come in for Greenup when Craft got hurt or when they were down a large amount and knew he could play and put zip on the ball, (IMO he should have started the last few games for Greenup just to get the feel of Varsity football.) so when i saw #14 out there last night i thought to myself, "Rister has really stepped his game up". Only to find out midway through the 3rd quarter that Farley was in the game the whole time. If Rister is suppose to b the starter and if he is even better than the Farley kid, then everyone on the schedule better watch out! (Other than Ashland) Lol.

 

All in all, Raceland played well, I think they could have tackled a little better but other than that they looked good. They have an explosive offense as long as they stay consistent.

 

The only trouble they should have on the schedule this year is the two games everyone is talking about. LCA and Ashland. I think ashland may have a little too much ground game with Alber and Carter in the backfield. Raceland couldnt even stop Arthur, and Carter only got 3 touches against Greenup so hes BOUND to go off for 200 or 250 with 2 or more touchdowns, And alber is a monster, end of story.

 

But at the end of the day Raceland is a good ball club and u can bet ill b at Ram Stadium come Friday. Good luck to both teams but i feel like Ashland will come out on top of this one in a close game.

That's funny because I really was thinking the exact same thing! I thought this must be the amazing Rister player I had heard so much about. Then come to find out it was Farley! If Rister is better than that, then he must be on the level of LCA's QB. No wonder everyone cared so much about what school he played for!

 

Oh...and unless they've officially renamed Putnam Stadium to Ram Stadium due to the beatings Raceland delivers to them on an annual basis now, I hope you show up at Putnam this Friday! :-)

I sorta fumbled the updates in the 4th quarter. I was trying to eat dinner, watch the LL World Series, listen to the Charger game and do the updates on the BC/Raceland webcast. BUT I did hit the trifecta: Rams won, Chula Vista won and Chargers won. Oh Yeah, dinner was good too.

The coaches have a few things to work on this week as well as the players. I hope they're in that film room right now working on it! Inside the 5 yardline and coming out without a score right before the half will not cut it this week IMO! But like I've said before if I knew it all I'd be down there coaching.

I can't help but feel that Boyd gave this one away. It doesn't surprise me at all though. Boyd really needs to work on their secondary defense and the skill positions.

 

I wasn't really impressed by anything either team did. I was impressed with the heart of the Raceland players. They never gave up.

 

Again, congrats to Raceland on the win.

Congrats to the Rams, they are the best coached school in recent years and the QB they have is pretty good may be the best in the area this year.

Not a problem oldrambler. Luckily I checked BGP during a timeout and saw I had a PM, I didnt even have to go to my inbox. I knew it was from you and what was going on :lol:. So I immediately went to the Raceland/Boyd update thread and surely enough I was right.

Congrats to the Rams! You played hard and never gave up. You showed a lot of character and poise. I am very proud of you. I can't wait to see us 100% healthy.

 

BTW, no one has mention the play of sophomore MLB, Bryan Caudill. He missed some practice time with an injury and didn't play in the first defensive series but made an impact when he stepped on the field. I saw a swagger to the defense when he took control. Way to go, Bryan.
