Moving Away To College

Featured Replies

Make friends with with people you "normally" wouldn't. The friends and professors you meet in college will become a giant network you may need one day.

Keep an open mind.

Study hard and get good grades. Get your degree in something with an open job market in which ever area you plan to live in. Trust me!

One bad grade can bring down your GPA. It is very difficult to bring up your GPA to where it was before that bad grade. Again, trust me!

Party hard but don't let it interfere with your grades.

Don't go home every weekend.

Go to all the social events you can.

Join an intramural sport.

Call your parents.

Be safe!

Enjoy college and enjoy living on campus. It's a great experience that everyone should have!

The biggest spreader of Oral Herpes in college is Beer Pong, so don't drink after other people!

Can't believe this got crickets

Exercise so you don't put on the freshman 15 (or more).

Take 15-18 hours per semester. Also possibly consider taking a summer class or two as well, they are ususally easier. I would also suggest staying at NKU and not transferring. Get it over soon as you can and possibly consider a Masters degree.

Don't let Plato fool you. It's inevitable!

 Cause its true?

Yes, I play way too much beer pong for that not to disturb me  Now it might throw my game off...

Me too. :irked: Will never look at Beer pong the same.

Yeah, way to go Rocket... :irked:

After I heard that I refused to play!

Why, don't want to spread it to anyone else?

I'm clean as a whistle buddy!

I guess you mean clean as a one owner whistle right?:ohbrother:

And get your dorm request in for the next school year as soon as you are permitted. I just went thru a "circus" with UK over the fact that my son got his request in 2 days late, he did not know it was late, never told it was late and was put on a waiting list. By the way his mother and I did not find this out from UK until last week because we called Housing Office. Don't rely on the school to tell you, or you'll be fretting the first week of school next year with no dorm.
