Regardless of how they feel, they aren't.

 

The fact that they aren't has absolutely nothing to do with my post though. I was talking about the "purity" of the game. When the $$ is as big as it is in college football now, the purity is gone.

When I was younger, I would anchor myself to the TV all day Saturday and all day Sunday, and hated being bothered. But as I grew up and the real world came calling, I had to choose. I chose Sunday as my day to tune in.

 

That doesn't mean I don't love college football and watch as much as I can, though. Just that I find it a lot easier to blow off watching a big game in the college ranks than I do an NFL game. As more and more of the dreaded "responsibility bug" infested my life, I decided Steelers games would be the only thing I would stop the world for.

You do have to learn to set your priorities and learn to manage your time to be a huge fan of both. But it can be done, even if you also Coach and have a tough stressful job. Learn to plan that's all. :thumb:

Interested to hear why you guys don't think college is more pure than their pro counterparts.

 

What do you mean by "pure?" Are we speaking in terms of purity of rules? The "play for love of the game" idea?

to me this is a no-brainer....and if it weren't for the $ implications of pro football. This would be a landslide for college, it is much more pure.....but in that same breath, that's why HS football is tops for me.

I LOVE both! Probably college for me. I've always liked both. When I was really young it was NFL. Through my high school years and college I liked college better. I wish they had a playoff system. Fantasy football has made the NFL even more fun I guess in part because we go to a game somewhere each year. I love the college campus scene, the tailgating, passion etc.

I watch the big games in college but I watch the NFL every Sunday. So it is the NFL for me.

College football for me but I like NFL a lot too. Its much more closer for me than say college hoops and NBA.
