I heard they didn't like having certain players blowing everyone away in terms of speed so they slowed it down. I don't really get it why can't the fast guys be fast and the slow guys still be slow?

Just picked it up tonight, had my copy reserved at Gamestop but didn't make the Midnight extravaganza last night. Believe it or not, and I feel ashamed of myself. On Madden Day 09' I go out, buy the new Madden, and then I get home and throw in the FIFA game I just bought instead. What is happening to me????

 

 

Oh well, going back out for some fun, I will play my first game later and tell you guys what I think about it. So far pretty mixed reviews on here. Oh and PS, soccer games are extremely fun by the way, and so are hockey.

Just bought it today...and am playing on all-pro. Stinking Kyle Orton just completed like 15 straight passes on me. Wow...

Has anyone else had challenge glitches?

 

I have played 2 games and had 2 major challenge glitches.

 

Glitch #1

 

I am at the Eagles 12 yard line. Moss catches a pass in the end zone, lands on his back with the ball in his hands. It was within the last 2 minutes of the first half so the booth challenges it. They overturn the play on the field. Now, it was a clean catch. Plain as day, clean catch. He landed on his back, the ball never hit the ground. Yet, after the play is overturned, instead of 2nd down at the 12 yard line, I now have first and goal from the 1 yard line.:confused::idunno:

 

Glitch #2

 

4th quarter, tie game, about 2:30 left in the game. Moss catches a pass on a post route, gets hit and fumbles the ball. Philly recovers the ball and returns the fumble about 10 yards. Well, I go to challenge it, but the CPU won't let me because Philly is challenging it. Granted, it was a fumble and I was challenging it because I had 2 challenges and you can't take them home with you. Anyways, Philly challenges the play when it is their ball, and it gets overturned and I then proceed to hit Moss on the next play for a TD. Why would the CPU challenge a play when it is their ball?:confused::idunno:

 

 

 

Other than that, I like this year's version of Madden wayyyy better than 09'. Unfortunately, I am still addicted to Undisputed, so I may get a game of Madden in once a day until I can win a few belts in Undisputed. I imagine once the NFL season starts, I'll be in full fledged Madden mode.

I will be buying Madden eventually...can't wait.

After playing it a few times I like it. It is a lot different than past Maddens, but different in a good way. I can tell it is one of those games in which the more you play it the better you will like it. They went back to the old school way of picking plays, having three different plays horizontally across the screen. Feels weird playing with it like that again, but I can remember when I was crushed that they went to the other way, so its funny how you can get used to something and not like something you used to love. Graphics are nice, and I like that they have added the wildcat formations to some teams. The soundtrack is also arguably the best I have heard on a game.

I think it's my favorite Madden by far...agreed Dolamite, mos def the best soundtrack in a video game in a long time.

Considering the great deal you're getting, I'd anticipate around August of 2010.

 

I actually heard that everyone should have them by early September at the latest.. But I don't remember where I heard that.

Anyone know any good plays? I play with the Bengals and just throw the ball needing to find a few plays.

I try to throw and run equally. I at least try to get Jacobs 15-20 carries per game with the Giants, and I also try to get Bradshaw 5-10 carries.

 

I'm a lot better at throwing than I am at running, but I'm not bad at running.

 

The only gripes I have with the game is the fact that it's extremely difficult to pressure the QB, but it's relatively effortless for them to hit your QB. Sometimes I'll have a good amount of time in the pocket, but if they blitz I'm in trouble. If I blitz when I'm on defense, usually every man gets blocked and someone will be wide open.
