I take it things didn't go so well? Thought the line would be a strong point this year -- perhaps some more time to gel. How did Xavier do running the ball? Krags at QB?

We moved the ball very well, Brad didn't throw it very well near the goal line, has a few picks.

How did the score end up?

 

I was also curious about how Hendrix looked at QB for Moeller, since he'll be moving on to my favorite college team next year.

I saw a 28-6 halftime score for Moeller from another board, A. Is this accurate? B. How did the later half progress?

^ I think it was 24 - 6 at the half, but it was about that way......we moved the ball plenty but turned the ball over plenty....their O-Line did very well....we have a lot of work to do....TWO WEEKS!

Timing problems were evident, but overall GREAT test for the Rocks. Playing a team of that caliber beats mauling a less talented squad. Will pay huge given the strength of schedule. A lot of lessons learned tonight. Moeller is for real.

 

Hats off to the #2s, who I heard quickly made up for the disadvantage & took the lead in the 3rd.

Our JV's were nasty tonight....given that and the intra-squad scrimmage by the Frosh Rocks yesterday, and the future looks super bright.

Trinity took the opening kickoff down the field but QB Brad Kragthorpe threw the first of 4 interceptions on the night. He could have walked it in but pulled up and threw it right to a Moeller linebacker. Trinity held on defense and then turned it over again on their next possesion around the Moeller 30 yard line and Moeller scored again on a short field. Trinity had their opportunities but turnovers and dropped balls killed drives. The starters only played the first half. The 3rd quarter was played by second team and Trinity out scored Moeller 21-7. The 4th quarter was played with each team emptying their bench and playing 10 play series until the full 3 hours was completed. There was alot to be learned from tonights scrimmage that will prepare this team for the road ahead. I think the number 1 lesson was if they clean up the turnovers, they can compete with everyone else on their early schedule and certainly through their district.

So you're saying that a Kragthorpe may be an albatross around the neck of 2 teams in Louisville?

No...Brad will be sensational......bank on it....the older Krag's...I think will do well also.

Brad will be fine. He has Coach Brohm and Coach Cov mentoring him. ROCK nation has nothing to worry about. It's our oppsition that needs to be worried come playoffs.

I think he just needs to loosen up and play ball. Too much thinking and not enough letting the game come to him. I agree he has the coaches and system that will make him better by playoff time.

I thought little Krag acquitted himself well despite the 4 picks. This was his first time out and it was against a very good team. His mistakes were of a discretionary, not physical, nature and can be very easily corrected. He has a good arm and can throw every type of pass, including the deep outs. No doubt that Moeller was the superior team but a lot of Trinity's wounds were self-inflicted including an unsuccessful fake punt on their side of the field. I did not notice any major All-State caliber players on the Rocks but it is still early obviously. The kick-off kicker is very good, kicking one about 2 yards beyond the dead ball line. I thought Xavier Thomas ran well and no. 10 on D played well.

The Moeller QB is strong and throws a real nice ball--has a very good and accurate arm. The whole Moeller squad is physically big and their WR's can catch.

All in all, this performance did not surprise me one bit. It will be a process for T this year. I just wish there was another scrimmage before the opener.
