2009 Boone County

How are the Boone Co. Rebels looking so far this summer in preperation for the upcoming season? Still loaded at RB? Has their scheduled been posted? I guess the BCHS v. CCH game no longer kicks off the football season in Northern Kentucky.

I haven't heard to much on how they look. It is still early, they just started 2 a days on Monday. I saw Nate Alford throwing the other day and he looks very good. If they play like last season, it should make for an interesting 6A district this season.

I always really liked the BCHS v. CCH season opener myself, but somewhere around '98 or '99, Cov Cath started getting into the "bowls" in Cincinnati and Ohio. Oh well.

The Rebels offense is looking really good, the line looks like there coming along. Both Rbs look great. Alford is throwing the ball very well. I think BC biggest problem is going to be their deffense they have to get that together if they want to win big games!!!

Who are their running backs this year? Don't they have a stud Sr. and a stud Jr.? Are they getting any looks from D1 schools?

I guess, following the ole' Boone Co. tradition they will be a run oriented team again?

I liked the Boone / Cov. Cath. game to open the season. Good to see Boone and Highlands playing again.

24 Charles Quainoo; Sr; 339-2198 21 Td

38 Jordan Oppenheimer;Jr; 139 -642 5 Td

How is Boone going to use Oppenheimer with Quainoo at tailback?

Quainoo is a fun RB to watch. It'll be interesting to see him and Simpson battle it out this year.

Possibly like they used Eagler last year but with the threat he might get the ball on counters and such.

Me too.

By the way, if Boone County is going to stick with the run, run and run the ball offense again this year, they don't have a chance in Hades of beating X or Trinity.

Who was the last public High School team to beat either Trinity or St. X? Just curious.

I know Dixie, yes, Dixie beat Trinity in 2004, and Male beat St. X in 2006.

IMO Quainoo is a solid RB although I do not think he will shine like he did last year. Now IMO Simpson is the real deal and has a future. :thumb:

Any reasoning to this statement? IMO Quainoo and Simpson both have a future even though they may be on seperate paths. Quainoo's stop and go speed burst is amazing, Simpson's power is also amazing for a High school running back, but I think the future of running backs is more in the elusive type because they will last longer. I hope they both have great seasons and set themselves up for good offers at the next level. IMO they are both "real deal" backs and are fun to watch.

I have also heard that Quainoo is actually playing a year above his age level. If this is true, could you imagine him as Junior this year with another year to develope.

Unless Boone has no OL to offer this year - and it seems as though they always come up with some big boys up front - I couldn't imagine why he would not be as effective this year as last.
