Who was the last public High School team to beat either Trinity or St. X? Just curious.

There was really no point, just curious to know who were the last or most recent public school programs to have the overall rounded talent to successfully compete against these two powerhouse teams from Ky. Thanks for satiating my curiosity.:thumb:

Any reasoning to this statement? IMO Quainoo and Simpson both have a future even though they may be on seperate paths. Quainoo's stop and go speed burst is amazing, Simpson's power is also amazing for a High school running back, but I think the future of running backs is more in the elusive type because they will last longer. I hope they both have great seasons and set themselves up for good offers at the next level. IMO they are both "real deal" backs and are fun to watch.

I have also heard that Quainoo is actually playing a year above his age level. If this is true, could you imagine him as Junior this year with another year to develope.

 

I do not think Quainoo has the size and I really believe the other teams will catch up to him this year. I am not saying he is a bad RB just not the player of a Simpson. I wish both of them the best!

So, in your opinion, do you think Oppenheimer will see more action then? I take it he is the bigger of the two backs. I've seen him during the basketball season and he looks like a monster! Or, do you think they will do more of a two back set with both of them in at the same time.

I would bet Quainoo will get the lions share. Simpson is the star at SK. :thumb:

I agree Quainoo will get most of the carries, but its going to be very exciting to watch Quainoo and Oppenheimer in the same backfield! Im also excited to see how the Rebels do throwing the ball, that is going to be very interesting!

Yes I believe Charles just turned 16 a little over 6 months ago! Most juniors are older than him.

How is Boone going to use Oppenheimer with Quainoo at tailback?

 

I watched the intrasquad scrimmage today and they both looked very good. Boone has installed several new sets as to get both backs involved in the offense including some option plays. Quainoo looked great catching the ball out of the backfield and has a mean stiffarm working for him! Oppenheimer looked great on a crack back play and is a real work horse. The O-line is not as big as in recent years but are much quicker and using alot more pulls and traps. Don't be surprised to see Boone throw the ball more this year. Alford had one of the highest scores at Meyers Florida quarterback camp this year. He looked great throwing the rock today.

The Rebels offense is looking really good, the line looks like there coming along. Both Rbs look great. Alford is throwing the ball very well. I think BC biggest problem is going to be their deffense they have to get that together if they want to win big games!!!

 

You're so right, the defense is a big question mark. They have to replace alot from last year, especially at linebacker and D-backs. They're smaller but very quick to the ball. They will be baptized in the fire and tested early and hopefully a well oiled machine by district play. The kicking game is vastly improved.

I think if Rick throws the ball a little more than he has in the past and opens up the offense to get the ball into Quainoo's hands outside the tackle box, they could make it to BG. There are a lot of very talented kids on Boone this year and if Rick spreads the football around and doesn't allow the opponent to put 9 in the box, they can go very, very far."

 

Sounds like Rick and I are thinking alike. Get the ball to Quainoo out in the flats; get Oppenheimer the ball so the opposing Ds can't focus on Quainoo; and throw the ball to keep opposing Ds honest. If Rick calls the plays in the games like he evidently did in today's scrimmage, Boone will be a serious threat to any one they play this year, including my Bluebirds.
